Well there's a shock Simon. Whats the new business? I also see the Ultima is up for sale, I guess its time for a change all round then. Best of luck to you both.

Been there (and still am!) You may earn double, you may earn nothing.

Been there too! My line was 'If I'm vacuuming the house I won't hear customers ringing...'

(It worked, though I fear Dawn is smarter than mine was!)

Simon,
Just got in and read this. Had a bit of a heart flutter when I saw the thread title though

You have done the right thing, no doubt about that!!
Although when a job goes pear shape, you will only have your own ass to kick

What are you like at pipe fitting? If you have a CIS ticket (old 715 equivalent) and you don't mind a bit of travelling I'm sure I could get you a bit now and again If I get anything big come up (job!!) Shall I give you a call?

I'm sure you will do well though. You have the right attitude for work!

How's things with the CanAm. Any interest?
Took my GTR out to a local meet today, first time out for some time. It did feel great though
I had forgotten just how much go it has. That's the problem with driving a van around all day, as you know

Yep, in the '80s there was a Transit developed with (I think) Williams F1, which was pretty handy around a track. But I'm afraid that a standard model won't get you in to Roadshow events - unless you have a giant BBQ and bar in the back

Best of luck Simon and Dawn!

I'll miss seeing the Ultima at shows but hopefully the new gas fire business will soon be a (roaring) success and you can build/buy another one.

No, no, no; he doesn't want to be really busy slogging his guts out for little profit. The correct business mantra (and the one I live by), should be; "you can have it 'good', 'fast' or 'cheap'......... pick any two".

Don't worry if you wake up in the night in a cold sweat. It's perfectly normal if you are self employed
