I am in the process of developing a website for my local Parish Council would be really greatful if people took a look and told me if they think it is ok ?

I like the style, interesteing but still suitable sober for a parish council.
Some of comments though:
Two pages have lots of dead space and you have to scroll for the info:

I'm sure you didn't write the copy but 'Barnham Broom Parish Council is made of up of 7 Councillors aged 21 or older who either live, work or own property in Barnham Broom or within 3 miles. The Parish Council is elected every 4 years the next election being in 2007....' is not my idea of an Opening Prime Desire Statement! Nobody wants to know that, they want to know what they actually Do, Why it's Important and How to get Involved.
Other than that, I'd just add that numbers lower than 10 are normally written in full, eg 'seven' not '7'.
NB But it looks nice; I like the thumbnail pic.

Well I liked that bit! It makes them sound like decent local people rather that anonymous distant government.

Ah well, every client is different you see! I have little regard for 'pocket politicians', and the fact that Barnham Broom has seven of them makes me think 'So what?'. They're elected every four years. I think 'So what?' again. You see, it's simply of no interest to the aveage Joe. Instead, it's a Parish Councillor's idea of what is interesting - 'nuff said! By all means have this info under a button somewhere, but not as the opening volley on a home page.
I agree about the 'decent local people' angle but that would be better achieved by a nice photo of Councillor + spouse/kids/pets, and a piece that runs 'Eric Numbnuts is 42 and was born and educated locally. His reason for becoming a Councillor is to strive for justice, freedom, lower taxation and a fanatical devotion to the Pope'. Cue Eric: ' I think it's important to... etc'
I should be charging for this...!
