I think that 'new forum' ideas can be put to Petrol Ted for consideration to add to existing forums. Custom car forum sounds to me like a good idea.

That does sound like a good forum idea, I think it might be better received by Ted if you call it a "custom and modified forum" this would appeal to a larger audience and thus more advertising clout for Ted .

The car started off as a 56 Mk1 Consul we have aquired an XJS front bed XJ40 rear sub joined the lot together with our own chassis and floor pan. As you probably realise the track of the Jag bits is some what wider than the consul but instead of going the usual blow the arches out affair we are gonna cut the car straight down the middle along its length and add 12" to its middle!!! The 4 doors will be thrown away and made into a coupe extending the front doors by 8" out of aluminium Lambo style. The front will be Zodiac 1 piece flip made from GRP. And for power how does 6L of V8 american muscle sound. The exhaust will exit through the sills 1 pipe at the front 1 pipe through the rear, inside we will have a button which will operate the flap to go from straight through headers nice n noisey to the rear section nice n quite for normal road use. Well there u go thats the basics what do you think ??? Most people say completely barking silly for some strange reason!

People post that sort of thing in the kit car area at the moment - there's 3 I can think of doing custom / scratch build cars at the mo - AndyGTT, Davi and the La Bala build (can't remember the guys PH name though rolleyes)

I agree that a new section would be good though, but not sure how much traffic there would be in that area. I'll stick a post in the feedback area to ask PetrolTed's crew to stick a new section in - where do you want it - other marques?

Other Marques sounds good. But I do know if you compare a Custom guy to a Kit car build he won't be too pleased. Custom builders like to look at there work as an insight into there art not as a car bought pre designed. Don't get me wrong I love kit cars and the builder always puts his own mark on whatever car he builds lets just say when I have gone to custom car shows and have mentioned I like kit cars I get a few strange looks irked
