I have a friend who's mate is coming over from Spain next year, every year they do somthing different, they have tried karting, off roading and quad bikes. this year he has no idea what to do with him, I said if anyone would have any ideas it would be you lot, So your ideas please. I dont think they would mind travelling a bit but not hundreds of miles, He did mention that they had talked about driving tanks but didn,t know where.

Have you tried the Mickleburgh Collection up on the N. Norfolk coast area?
They do armoured vehicle driving, but I'm not sure about it during winter time.

I've also seen tank driving at Duxford. Even if they're not driving, there's masses to see there.

I've been gliding at Tibenham, but it was some time ago. I'm sure a Google will find that or another one. A great experience. Here's a young Simpo unexpectedly doing a loop... you can see the reflection of the instructor's face having a good old grin

And last January in NZ:

Bear in mind though that you only get a couple of minutes in there and the queues are pretty long. Been tosee it in Milton Keynes a few times but can't justify the expense vs the actual experience time.
Agree that gliding is a good idea - it's a fantastic experience. Or for something a little more exposed how about microlighting - if you let me know where abouts in EA you are I could look up a couple of clubs for you....

Of the one hour indoor skydiving session only about 2 mins is actual freefall time, so..

How about outdoor skydiving
