Now that I've sold my Morris 'Bullnose' its time to start looking around for a replacement. Something old, very old I mean, different, starts and stops as intended? Small? big? 2 seats or four? roof on open top? Petrol - yes!

Watch this space to find out what will be holding up the EAPH convoy next season (well until I can dive into a layby that is)

So David, what's on your short-list then?

How about:
Triumph Roadster.
Blower Bentley
Leyland Wotsit (like the one at Gaydon)

Well Steve it looks like the wedding hire business is out of the window so I'm a free agent so to speak, subject to er indoors ears

Anything could happen : it will be vintage for sure. I have eyed the post van and thought that could be fun, but it is pricey. A 2 seat open top appeals, H@H auction house has an Swift of 1912 vintage which looks great, but it could be a little sluggish with it being just a twin cylinder engine biglaugh Possibly an Austin 7 of some discription, I would love the open top Swallow but they simply do not come onto the market.

Anyhow, thanks for taking an interest, my cars may be old and slow nowadays but I'm still a petrolhead at heart.

Have seen the Austin 7 blower on E-Bay, bl00dy fantastic bit of kit. Last time it came to market was 1991 and it fetched 34 large ones yikes so it won't be me bidding for it.

Very decent of you to say so Steve, but I feel that I can't compete with some of the big boys out there. So many people simply want your lowest price and won't even bother to want a look at the cars cry

Never mind, I will still offer up for friends and colleagues and I'm hoping now to buy the old P.O. van to put up for film / drama / in fact anything that may help pay for it and old Mr Crusty the trusty 12/4 driving

If you're after film/TV work, how about contacting the various agencies that provide cars and ask them what's most in demand/pays the best?

Well thats one way John, but the market is so diverse and fast moving I don't think it would help much to have flavour of the month. Just end up being offered low rent. So might just go for the unusual and take less work for higher rent.

Nice as they are Paul, I seem to have a fetish for pre 1930 stuff at the moment. Was eying up the old post office van on E-Bay (altho it was a 1938 motor) it has been on twice and not sold. Best bid was 7900 pounds but dealer wants 9950 pounds, I offered 8350 but this was declined, he will settle for 9750 but that is too strong for my taste, it is after all a van, albiet a very nice full history and liveried van.

Trundling along in my dear old Austin 12/4 when all of a sudden a loud CLANG yikes noise eminated from its nether regions. That was the end of the clutch and I had to suffer the indignity of seeing 'Mr Crusty' (new name) loaded onto the back of a recovery lorry weeping. Booked in now at Scole week after next to see what on earth has broken in the clutch, bought new linings and thrust bearing to be fitted whilst his in bits, I feel a very large bill looming

Thank goodness I was'nt on my way to pick up a bride driving
