I regard ourselves in the East of England...East Anglia....our own area.

BUT

Where are we? I've heard some of our towns and cities (Norwich is an example I've come across) be referred to as in the South of England, East of England, South East or the Midlands!

So where would you class our part of the UK?

I would say we are in the East of England.

However I saw a map the other day on the BBC Ceefax 5 day forecast and Edinburgh had moved to the East of England.

Does it matter if the 'less educated' think they know where we are?

Surely all that matters is we know we are in East Anglia and wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the UK.

Sorry for calling you Shirley!

See, I have more of a problem than you guys. I live(ish) in Sandy, Beds. So I am sort of not East Anglia, not East Mids, and not in the "South East"... so where the hell am I?

My preference is to be in East Anglia, but maybe just "Anglia" or "South West Anglia" would work better for me?

I get Look East BBC (last time I checked, I'm guessing it changed it's name as part of the BBC re-vamp?) and I get East Anglian based ITV news too, I also do any non-food shopping in Cambridge, so at least I have something to back my claim up with

That program has to be the worst on TV some nights. When you think its been a slow news day, they really drag up some gems to confirm it.

And edited to add
And since I've joined your territory from that icy ,windy patch North of the Hadrian's Wall, my opinion is you're all Southerners.

Welcome to East Anglian TV!

If there's a farm animal about to keel over and die, they'll report it! silly

I was thinking that too. Sometimes my TV mag gives listings for both London and Anglia. London gets something interesting, while Anglia gets a programme about potato harvesting in 1920.

At least we have Julie the weathergirl
