Can anyone recommend a good (not too expensive) car valeter that will travel to Ely. There's a few in the Yellow Pages but I'd rather go for personal recommendations when getting someone to polish my P&J & clean up the inside.
Also, where can I get that Armourfend/clear plastic stuff fitted to protect the front of my new car?
Never thought much about the Armourfend but am in the process of buying a car that I'd like to protect the front of (fibreglass!) so reckon it'd be worth the investment. boxedin

For valeting I have always used www.pro-valeting.co.uk who are local to you as well.

Roy is an absolute perfectionist and has just transformed my cars.

wavey Hi,

Ely is ok for us. We do not fit Armourfend but Paintshield.

Drop me a PM and let me know how we can help.

Thanks

Hi Kev,

That's brilliant - haven't taken possession of the little monster yet - VERY excited about getting my first RWD car. I absolutely detest Armourfend & the clear plastic sheeting that people put on the front of their cars but now I'm in the process of buying this car I'd quite like to keep it looking beautiful for as long as I can. HOWEVER, reading that TVR thread that pmoakes put up, I'm having second thoughts...

What TVR is it? Sometimes it's possible to take the stuff up to a panel edge and that disguises the effect.

If you don't do the nose, do consider getting the insides of the wheel arches/rear valance protected as flying grit and stones will quickly take the paint back to fibreglass.

Oh yes, and congrats on getting a car with a proper size engine

If it is a brand new TVR, then TVR offer Paintshield as a factory fit option.
Although, Paintshield now offer full frontal coverage for some vehicles. this means the film is taken upto the A pillar so there is no visible edge.

Let me know if we can help though.

Cheers
Kev

Eh? If you mean me, it's not a TVR. confused

I'm buying a kitcar replica of an AC Cobra - a rather lovely Pilgrim Sumo 3.5L RV8. I haven't got it yet but the seller is taking the VX220 Turbo as p/ex plus cash & I've just sold the MINI also (to someone else).
If everything goes to plan - I get very nervous about buying cars - and I've got the Cobra in my garage in the next couple of weeks then I'll be bringing it to the October PHEA meet....I'm really excited about it. bounce

2+2=3 evidently!

However the Cobra replica will be more interesting (not that TVRs aren't but we have several already!) and we hope you'll be able to show it off to an adoring public next year

LOL - it's alright! Most of the people on the other forums think I'm getting a TVR. I was looking at a Tamora for quite a while but had to calm myself down and think sensibly, we'd just bought a house & money is tight. Plus with the new MINI coming out, now was a good time to sell mine, it's gone to some friends who will have lots of fun in it! The seller expressed an interest in the VX and that killed several birds with quite a large stone! He's got a bargain with the VXT pricewise but it was also a good time to sell as regards to that.
I saw the car on PH Classifieds and thought...let's go for it, plus insurance is £300 compared to £780 for the MINI. Why doesn't everyone drive Cobras? hehe
With regards to the Cobra, I absolutely bloody love it and it makes me go all funny when I see it! Test driving it on Thursday in the dark hehe & 2nd viewing.

Interesting that your changing a Mini to a Cobra for reasons of economy!

Test drove the Cobra last night - I just love driving with all this tremendous noise & a huuuge looong shiny bonnet with a big scoop on the front. It's tremendously impractical but god is it beautiful. lick

Just the nasty bit of sorting out some money now....

If everything goes to plan, should be picking it up in a week but have decided to go up to Midlands on the weekend of the PHEA meet - I want to educate my carhating family on the joys of a V8. hehe
