i was a bit suprised to see no mention of this track day seeing as the Marham day is so popular, so i just thought i'd mention it

it looks to be pretty well organised, and i'd guess the tarmac on the runway is still in good condition seeing as it only had a few of years use after it was resurfaced.

A guy at Rougham mentioned this, said it was good fun. I think Scott & I will most likely be going. We've got a mate down that w/e with a JCW GP who'll probably come along. thumbup

If you're going to Marham you'll need to be able to, the sweeper off the main straight is a left hander...

It sounds good, I like the bit about the 'wetted concrete area', could be some good drift practice without eating your tyres up to much...

Delighted to see you lot, I am the organiser for the Honington Weekend. I have a dwindling number of spaces left - more on the Sun than the Sat but both are still available. Please drop me a line on rafhoningtontrackweekend@hotmail.co.uk and I'll send detailed joining instructions. Payment is by cheque, in advance.

The response has been fantastic. There's a real selection of trackday kit coming, headlined by the new Toniq R (of course), a couple of drag bikes, Formula Fords, a Carrera Cup racer, a Cooper Climax, PPC's trackday Roller, a 4WD turbo'd V6 2CV, the new Lotus Europa, Astons, Gallardo, lots of 7's and a really entertaining crowd.bounce

As a taster - much of the development video of the Toniq R was shot at Honington (on Pistonheads TV www.pistonheads.tv/clip994 ), the surface is 100% smooth and very fast. The circuit has been designed with the assistance of Shaun Taylor Motorsport to avoid any hard bits, so all the bins, tanks etc that you can see on the vid will be moved!

We are running a 2 mile anticlockwise handling circuit, 1/4 mile run and drift area simultaneously, and will open a VMax run at lunchtime. I defy anyone with unleaded in their bloodstream to be bored!

Please let there be more of these events in the future. With a Caterham that's unlikely to turn a wheel anytime soon, I'm gutted to have missed this.

No spectators as such - it dramatically alters our insurance category. Volunteers, and PHers, however.... Drop me a note to the rafhoningtontrackweekend@hotmail.co.uk and I'll see what I can do.

big jessie indeed!!

let me think for a minute....
drive 170 miles camp in a paddock with just about no facilities, then get up early, spend the day fettling the car (and probably glueing back together again if the past couple of outing are to go by!) , then drive 170 miles back again.....

against bimble over to my girlfriends place, have a bit of a lie in, wander up to the camp, get to watch loads of cars whizzing round, then wander home.....

jessie...no!.....stupid....maybe!

its just a pity that the both clash, presott looks like its going to be a great weekend, but so does honington.....hopefully you'll have more track days there next year!

Really looking forward to this! We're going both days, taking my Cooper S on the Saturday & the VX220 on the Sunday. Scott's gone down to Bracknall Tyres & Battery in Berkshire eek after recommendations from Pistonheads for a full set of Bridgestones, today.
We had a long night last night when he decided to change his brake pads and left the locking wheel nut in the wheel as he went through our village at 10pm to "test" them. Cue the 5 squillion candle power torches as we searched all through the village & under every car to eventually find it approximately 2 miles outside of the village in a layby. VERY LUCKY. Phew.

Looking forward to seeing Jim's Toniq R. yes

I'll be there somewhere on the track... Both days, managed to get onthe Photo team, so any sideways controlled powerslides (joke) would be nice...

Weather is looking nice so we should get some good photos for you!
