Discussion
Sunday is looking very wet. See here : www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=7347
Whats the score if its as bad as it sounds, are we still go? I guess that the airshow will be badly affected as well. I was really looking forward to this one. Bl**dy British weather !!

As a PPL we always use the met office for our accurate long term weather forecasting.
Click on this link then the local area to get a fairly accurate 5 days
www.met-office.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/eastern.html
At the moment it looks Bright with showers.
Best check back again Saturday evening, but if it looks like a wash out I dont think I will go, As Ian I'm really looking forward to this one.

Bah, lightweights! Not so many years ago I stood in a gazebo at Rougham in the middle of a thunderstorm - it was raining so hard the water was spraying through the sides. But did we flinch? Never!
So the good news is that Andrew should be bringing a gazebo this year, and there are plenty of other places to hide in if it rains. So given that weather forecasts are generally wrong, and that even the smallest of sportscars has rooom for an umbrella, I shall certainly be there as per Plan A. Chances are that if we do get the odd shower, the bits in-between will be fine.
Forward!

If I remember rightly you have to drive over a freshly cut field to get to the display area. Last time I went I took the noble and ended up with a very shiny under carriage after getting it scoured by the cut wheat !! Beware if it rains as a 4x4 might be a better option.
Think of the power slides! (joke)

Wasn't a problem last year Wayne, they re-routed us in from the industrial estate. However, if the field we parked on last year (dirt and weeds), had a real socking, leaving could be fun. Although, talking to the chap with the Gorden Keeble at Helmingham, he said it was more grassy now.
I've been watching the weather forecast all week. The forecast started out being rain all week, including the weekend. By midweek it was rain for the rest of the week apart from Sunday. Here at least, there's been hardly any rain, which I guess means we'll get it all on Sunday . What a wonderful profession weather forecasting must be. No matter how bad you are you still get to keep your job.
Hi Patrick,
Well we did get the odd squall which at one point threatened to take the gazebo away but we survived! Pity you couldn't make it as there was an (apparently original) GT40 there.
No point in having a mobile in a Griff! However there are 2-3 people who want to go and couldn't get a place, so if you can tell me whether you're going to be there or not before the day that would be helpful - and of not, I can give your place to them.
I hope Bacardi got home; after spotting a rad leak we had to top up his cooling system with coffee

Boy I would have loved to see that if it was original, thats a £million car today, John did you get any pic's?
There are quite a few kit versions about that would almost pass for an original, you would need to check the chassis to be sure, but if it was an original wow!
Glad it all went well, hope to see all next Monday at Lavenham.
