Sea to come in 3 miles

A friend on mine was going on about how the sea is due to come in three miles and flood large parts of Norfolk and the whole of Hemsby in October and November.

This is the first I have heard of it did I miss something on Anglia News ?

If it does then I may go to watch. Otherwise, I can't see any other reason for visiting Hemsby.

Blimey, the effects would be colossal -- I'd have thought flooding that amount of the Hemsby / Gt Yarmouth area could cause millions of pounds of improvements.

Mmm, but you have to balance that with the pollution of the sea caused by bits of Hemsby floating around in it...

They are concerned that there is going to be a repeat of the combined weather and tidal conditions that led to the Great Flood of 1953. My mother was banging on about it because she remembers the '53 flood when her home village near Orford became an island.

Unusually high tides between 9th Sept upto about the 11th...?

...with the possibility of heavy rain too...Batten down the hatches and out with the sandbags...crazy climate these days....
