Most of my garden was washed away in a flash flood this afternoon. My garage/workshop had 18 inches of water standing in it.
When I called up the Met Office's satellite photos, the entirety of mainland UK was enjoying beautiful clear skies, except (from the look of it) North-West Cambridgeshire.
That's just not fair.

Isn't 18" of standing water about average for the fens? I'll try not to gloat that my patch is 4 foot above sea level!
Some spectacular lighting accompanied the deluge too. One strike I saw left a ball of lightning at ground level for a couple of seconds. Not seen that before.
