seems to have come around very quickly being this Sunday. Do we just mention Pistonheads to the gate people and hit them on the head if they refuse entry.
All entrants are booked and I have the tickets for them. Later this week I'll announce where we'll meet up (RV) before the event so I can hand them out (for you need one to get in) and then we all arrive in convoy
Actually Dave (gets out calculator and taps buttons furiously) I reckon you should set off at 8.19am on Wednesday
Hi everyone, looking forward to tomorrow, my first proper PistonHead show. lets hope Crankedup has set off already, hope I can keep up with the convoy tomorrow as the way my westfield is geared it gets a bit noisy at above 80mph.
I have read that there is a trophy for the best club stand, surely we must have a chance if we set the cars out well.
See you all in the morning, Shirley cant come as she is working so I am bringing my friend Pam along for the day.

My first pistonheads show aswell Spent far too long giving the car a major cleaning session, so on the run to the show I expect the biggest car of the group to be in front of me scooping up all the flies from my path (is Darren bringing the Merc )
How anal is this showing thing? Will we be giving the cars a once over at the event of just turn up as they are?

I don't think any of the local shows are at all anal (although you do get the A•••hole coming up and making stupid comments... but that's life). They are just nice days out, plenty of old cars to look at, if you like that sort of thing (but as the title suggests more practical classics at this one so not so much exotica). Also plenty of other things to see and if the weather remains good, just nice to sit out and have a picnic and natter. Chairs, tables, hats, rugs, sunbeds, sunblock, decking and inflatable swimming pools are all optional (although if it's like last year, I would definitely recommend a hat, sunblock and a plenty to drink in a cool bag (although there is a large beer barn).
I too have spent the afternoon giving the banger a polish, the irony often is that when you get there, you have to drive across a field and by the time you've parked, it's covered with dust. I usually give it a quick dust and that's it. See you all tomorrow.

Entirely up to you. You'll probably collect a few flies on the way up - I take a damp chamois for last minute polishing. But it's not a Concours D'Elegance.
although I do reserve the right to have the dirtiest car towed away and publicly crushed in front of a baying crowd...

Is there a RV for this meet!! Am I booked in!!
Hi Phil, you should have received an email from john, you are on his list. We are meeting at the Toys R Us store just off the A12/A14 junction at Ipswich where John will hand out entry passes. we will leave there at 10.30 and convoy to Easton (before getting lost down a narrow farm track ).
Edited to add I see he has spotted you in the other thread

See you all tomorrow.Or, if you go to Rougham (which is a really good day out, so makes note to self to make more effort to get out in the future) you get to go across a very dusty field, park behind a f'ing great set of planes, and let them blow tonnes of grass into your car when they start up
That's when having a proper roof on the car helps . Me, I just turn up and enjoy the day, having good chats with people who really know cars and engineering or playing with the ones that don't.
Punter : "Is it front wheel drive?"
Me : "Yes. The engine's very small." me points in the direction of the windscreen wiper motor.
Punter : Turns to mate , "told you they were, that's why they're so fast"
Punter : "What's in the back then."
Me : "I don't know how to open it so I've no idea."
Punter : "Ah. Thanks for chatting."
Me : "No problem, enjoy the rest of the show."
They were happy, I was happy (ok for totally different reasons ). One thing to note, if some chap comes up and starts talking about his fire engine, you need the loo (or your favorite exit excuse).
Good day folks, and thanks very much for all your support today. A good turn out, some new faces and good ambience all round. Special thanks to Ian who spent nearly an hour getting to the showground, and Andrew for providing much-needed shade.
Despite being wounded in action, I managed to grab some photos.
