Your first car?

Well judging by some of the cars i saw i think that i may have a problem with keeping up as iv only got a 1.8TGTI and a seriously Bad passenger.
....this made me think, what were your first/most disastrous cars?
Mine was a brown Fiat 126 complete with go faster stripes, i remember blowing one spark plug on a trip home and limping home on one cylinder. My German shepherd used to sit on the back seat with his head out the back window - must've made for an entertaining sight.
...amazingly i sold it for what i paid for it.

My first car was an 1983 MK1 Golf 1.1c (GTi look-a-like).
Then moved onto a 1989 Mk1 Golf Clipper Convertable.
Then onto a brand new Seat Ibiza Cupra 20vT (2002)
Sold the Ibiza, became carless for a month borrowing a 1985 BMW 318 Auto while I looked for my Boxster, purchased that and the BMW, then along came a Golf TDi a year later, which replaced the BMW.
Then Last year Sold the Boxster with intention of running the Golf only while I sorted out the house, managed that for a month or so before looking for a replacement where I ended up with the 968 Sport and no regrets!
Thats pretty much my whole life story when it comes to cars, did have a company car for a breif period which was a Ford Escort so I don't like talking about that period in my life!
The only car I would say that I regret buying is the Ibiza although I would say that was down to the fact I bought it new and maybe expected too much! If it had been second hand I would have lived with the small faults, the car itself was great!

1957 Morris Minor, which I wrote off after aquaplaning through a big puddle and hitting the only telegraph pole in sight!
Then had a 1968 Corsair 2000E. Great car. Insurance was almost as much as I was earning in 1973 so that had to go.
Also had a 1967 Austin 1300, a Vauxhall Viva 101 (I think), 1975 Morris Marina estate, Austin Princess 2200HLS (in Brown), Suzuki Jeep, Vauuxhall Carlton estate, Land Rover Discovery.
thinking about it, most the cars I have had have been crap.

A Rover 115SD in motorway sign-blue bought from Fairhead & Sawyer in Woodbridge in 1996 when I was 19. It was very slow but equally very economical (Ipswich-Edinburgh on a 20 quid tankful!) - very important when you're a student. Handled really rather well though.
It and I were however never really compatible (an official top speed of 96 mph whereas I wrung an indicated 110 out of it on a German autobahn bears witness to that) and so I only kept it for 18 months before swapping it for a late Mk2 Golf 1.8.

First car - Volvo 340. But I did learn alot about oversteer and skid correction that has saved me from some bent bodywork since then!
But despite some attrocious DIY in the engine bay of the 340, the worst was my pug 306. You could wrap yourself in tin foil and run around in a lightning storm and have less electrical problems than that pug had just sitting on the drive alone at night. Driving it was even more interesting!

My first car was the only new car I ever owned. Finished univeristy (first time around) and bought a '93 Fiat Uno Fire in metallic petrol blue (which is that funny colour that actually looks dark green). I ran that for over five years, absolutely trouble free - if rather slow - motoring before swapping it for a spitfire.
