fcking wnkers.....talk about insensitive
I will never set foot inside a Halifax ever again because of this, and I will refuse to ever utilise their services
Could'nt agree more. I do wonder if any of the financial institutions actually operate any differently to Halifax tho, under such circumstances? Proberly not. (shame we do not have a coco bean shaker smilie)
Sadly we live in the global economy of faceless corporations, ...it's not just banks.
We have been with Halifax for over 15 years and it's been relatively easy. Every once in a while I ring up and have a moan about the cr*ppy product and get it uprated to a better deal having got better quotes elsewhere.
A few years ago we wanted a loan against the mortgage and they mucked it up, not once but twice. In the end the staff tried to be helpful but just didn't understand their own processes. I ended up going in, telling them how they should have done it and what they now needed to do to put it right. Worrying when they're greatful for help from a customer!!
Like anything you buy you have to always always negotiate a better deal. Financial stuff is no different.
The staff who work there follow mindless processes usually without questioning why. (Trust me , i've worked in enough of them to know). You have to keep escalating up the line until you find someone you trust will actually help you and don't take No for an answer.
And yes Gussie is so right, both names on the mortgage, both should be kept informed.
Pees me off how many times utility companies won't talk to me (i pay the bills) because it's in my husbands name (they won't put joint names down), now's the time not to have double standards. We'll support this.
