Following several comments recently requesting a memorial run in Ian,s name, I am currently looking at a re-run of last years 'Bucket and Spade Run' to Hunstanton. This was my first PHEA run and Ian made me feel very welcome and part of the group (as did everyone else). The format would be as last year with a main meeting point at Kings Lynn Tesco's, followed by a run to Hunstanton. The cliff top car park worked well last year so I see no reason to change this. There is a cafe' there for those wanting food or drink. A stop off at Sandringham on the way back can be included as last year.

John has been in touch with Gussie who would like to be part of this and future events where possible. General view at the present time is that this event should be in May / June to allow the weather to get its act together! With that in mind put a provisional in your diary for Sunday May 14th with a stand by of the following Sunday 21st. Obviously the date will be confirmed, subject to weather forcasts, nearer the day as last year but at least a date is in the diary before the season gets to full.

Feel free to add your names if your interested in taking part, and any question add below, or mail me off line.

TWO WEEKS TO GO NOW SO TIME FOR AN UPDATE

Subject to weather the date will be Sunday 14th May (21st as a stand-bye). As stated above, I want to keep the format as last year as Ian made such a good job of the organisation. The proposed time slots are as follows:

MAIN MEETING POINT : Tesco's car park at Kings Lynn at 12 noon for 12.30 get away. For anyone travelling from the South or East please feel free to arrange additional RV points as per last year. Anyone unsure of the location of Tesco's, it is just off of the Hardwick roundabout as you travel into Kings Lynn. The Hardwick roundabout is at the junction of the A47, A10, A149. Ian's directions from last year can be found here : www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=165774&f=121&h=0

From Kings Lynn we will head North to Hunstanton alomg the A149 with a final destination of the 'Cliff' car park at the far end of Hunstanton (near the lighthouse). There is a cafe located at the car park for anyone wanting refreshments. The rest of the day is yours.

As per last year, those wishing to detour to Sandingham on the route back will leave around 2.30-3.00pm (to avoid the traffic), and convoy back up the A149 for about 8 miles before turning off to Sandringham. Again, the time at Sandringham is yours to do as you wish, infact the whole event will be very laid back.

Thats about it I guess. I will confirm the date a couple of days before once the weather has been checked.

ALL SYSTEMS GO !! WEATHER LOOKS OKAY FOR SUNDAY SEE YOU ALL THERE

Please feel free to post anything you need to know.

Hi Ian, I would be up for that too! A nice drive up the A10.
Don't worry about the weather though. 14th May is my wedding anniversary and sun has always shone on that day (well the last 28 anyway!!)

I would love to attend but even my 'new' old car could only muster 45mph. So have a great day for all the right reasons.

I'll be joining the run in spirit, and wish you all the very best for this memorial to a great PHer. Sadly we are at Pembrey that weekend with the race car .. but may the sun shine bright on your drive and hope everyone remembers Ian with fondness and a good few blips of the loud pedal.
