Dear All,

Ian Beech, the gentle giant, acclaimed by all as a ‘nice bloke’, a frequent contributor to PistonHeads and co-founder of PH East Anglia, tragically took his own life on 7 February.

He leaves behind a wife and two children and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to enjoy his easy-going company.

PHers are welcome to attend the funeral; I'll circulate information on this in due course.

RIP Ian, from your chums at PH.

John,

That is the most terrible news. I never got round to meeting Ian, one of my big regrets, but in the mails I exchanged with him he came across as an extremely warm and friendly person.
RIP Ian - you will be sorely missed.
My thoughts go out to his family at this awful time....

Sad news, the more I think about it the more I remember about him. He was the first to come over and say hi at my first PH meet, and we exchanged quite a few emails. He even noticed I'd moved to Leeds and wished me luck.

A thouroughly nice bloke who will be missed.

I was one of those who more recently swapped emails with him regarding his great vulcan videos.

I didn't get as far as meeting Ian, but this is still awful news.

My thoughts are with his family.

I truly don,t know what to say. I had the great pleasure of meeting Ian at many of last years EAPH events, and was working with him organising a visit to Sebring International (Indie TVR dealer)for later this year. What a great loss. My thoughts are with his wife and kids. God knows what they must be going through.

Terribly sad news, each and every time I met Ian he made a special effort to come over to speak and to be friendly, a true gentleman.

My sincerest condolences to all of his family

You will be very sadly missed by many

Having met Ian a few times during the PHEA meets I found him to be a kind welcoming gent who made old and new PHer's welcome at any event and meeting. His friendly face and character will be missed by those that new him and by those who he should have met.

I can only say that I have also been moved by the response of fellow car enthusiasts by the loss of Ian. All our thoughts are with Ian's family,

RIP Ian
