From responses to my Vulcan bomber video clips on PH.tv, there is the chance that Pher "extra300driver" and I could possibly set up a visit for some great car/plane photos together with an ear deafening fast taxi run of the old girl herself

www.XL426.com (Vulcan restoration trust)

www.pistonheads.tv/clip680 (The mighty Vulcan)
www.pistonheads.tv/clip691 (558`s farewell flypast)

Depending on if we incorporate it into a public open day or perhaps a private PHer only visit, there could be a requirement for donations per car

If you might be interested, bung your name down on here ok.

Maybe also the chance if time allows for us to visit a burnt out pier and Golden mile for some rock!

Potential date is sometime in August at present but watch this space ok!

In case numbers get limited, we`d better use the "first come, first served" principle ok!

Good idea.

A private view may be better.

As per my photos on the other thread, when I went to Wellesbourne, that was a plane and car show.
I went along with the esprit club as one of my friends was a member.
We had been lead to believe that the runway would be open at some point so the cars could 'play'.
Although watching an esprit driving under the vulcan made me smile
The runway was not open to cars and the time with putting the cars around the plane for photos was very limited.

OK this is the plan.

In order for you lot to have an exclusive day at the vulcan we would have to bring in about £6000! The costs are as follows;

£1600-2000 for fuel to fast taxi (Depends on how long the airfield keep us holding)
£2000 to the airport - thats how much Southend Airport charge to have an open day.

Then we have other expenses, aircrew fuel and B&B. Getting the brake chutes packed not expensive but time consuming.

I wpuld suggest that we have an aera at the August Open Day, only for PH. Here you would get to look about the aircraft, get to see a fast taxi and we could get some pics done with the cars. As Southend is an operational airfield there are restrictions on who and what is allowed airside. It would be nice if we could have some examples of fime motoe cars on display for people to see, kept behind a rope.

This is all very open at the moment as I have to check with the Vulcan Restoration Trust.

I will let you all know ASAP, please keep putting your names down as I need to find out how many paople are coming.

Cheers all

Captains table? If we come down the night before and stay with the in-laws, I`ll join you, If I convoy with others from Norfolk, it`ll be MacDonalds at Warners bridge just outside the airport

Hey, that sounds like fun! Count me in.

Southend's about an hour and a quarter for me, (depending on the M25 of course)
