Speed Limit A140
Discussion
Hey guys!
Heard about this yesterday.

I did an advanced driving course and the ex-police officer who was teaching me took me up this road, and said it was absolutely ridiculous! There are indeed areas where you can safely do 60mph, and some of the speed limit changes happen in a few hundred yards! Have to confess I don't use this road regularly, but your thoughts please!

We use this road alot, IMO the 'new' speed limits are causing bunching, impatience to get past the slow baskit in front (who is sticking to the to low limit) driver frustration crawling along far to slow in some areas of the road, a danger that drivers are now 'taking a chance' to pull out of side roads onto the 'A' road.
Also when drivers eventually get to the Norfolk side they 'give it the berries' to try and make up for lost time and release loads of pent up frustration and annoyance.
Still the Council members responsible for the diktat of the lower limits know all of this because they have been advised by just about all other groups who have a pro' interest in speed limits, and still they decide to ignore wisdom in favour of thier own assumptions. Twats the lot of them

The crap speed limits simply increase more risky overtakes. When I go up the A140 now, I spend 75% of my time peering round the back of the car in front seeing if there is a big enough gap to overtake.
Of course, on the tiny dualled bit of the whole road they sit scamera vans on the bridge!
