Oh and a few Ferraris plus one unfortunate GT40!

Watch on board with Gary as he gets rid of any possible cobwebs! :hehe:

Just click the link.

Very nice to see. That was a big spin for the GT40, was it ok?

How fast did you get Gary? Looked about 160+ at least? Is that the fastest you have been in your NobUltima?

Looking forward to seeing her again on Sunday at the Northants run!

Anyone else on here coming? Its a great day out!

The speedo was reading 180mph Greg - but no official speed as I think only the Ferraris were being timed.

The GT40 did spin a few times but got going from that spin, only to break down half a lap later so probably did some sort of damage

Good spin though

The circuit looks very 'straight' - was the video of the Ultima on a top speed run or was that the full trackday circuit?

Good video

Good video

The video shows about a third of a lap (didn`t include a whole lap due to download times for dial up users)with the runway (and max speed) being the main straight. In fact there were also several sections of taxiway used with a few "natural" bends and a few chicanes. I think Gary said a lap was about 4 miles - and the surface was very smooth!

Good video Ian! Brilliant choice of opening music
Love the shot at the very end with the crash helmet on the back of the car. Sums up the day perfectly

I had a great day. thanks for videoing it!

I would definitely do that again. The runway was as smooth as a billiard table, all tarmac, unlike Bruntingthorpe!

The organiser of the event blagged a ride with me! Turned out he races rally cars!! Hope I didn't embarrass myself too much
He was impressed with the performance of the car, especially the top end speed!

Greg, not sure how accurate my speedo is! I must get one of those GPS thingys for next time.
See you at the Northants run. Will you be in that slow Noble thing of yours

The organiser (Mark) has emailed me with a for the film.

And the chap in the MK2 Jag (remember him in front of you - you passed him on the straight) has asked me for more footage of him while in front of you as he wanted to show his kids how (with utmost skill and daring do) he managed to keep a 550bhp Ultima at bay for nearly a minute!

He is glossing over the fact that the footage is during the "out lap"

Must get proper mics with the fur coats - that wind is a constant curse!

Ah, that makes sense! I was thinking it might be a circuit to avoid in my little lotus - the straight would take about 15 minutes!

Ian's far too modest to say this, so I will instead

RAF Marham will be using that video on their website and the FOC (Ferrari Owners Club) have asked permission to use it on theirs!!

One up to Ultima, methinks!

RAFMarham will be using my video on their website and CD, plus the FOC are also going to use it on.......D`oh, Gary`s already told you!

I`ve also sent the organiser an extended version after the response to my "so who has broadband" thread - which he can use if he has room!

That`s a fair few for quite a large download!

RAFMarham have used the later extended version for their cd after describing it as "brilliant"!!

I have to say I prefer it over the earlier Pistonheads download version I did - much more balanced at twice the length with extended atmospheric shots, longer "incar" and changed end.

Unfortunately after watching it again a couple of days ago, I noticed a couple of minor flaws so I now have the "Directors tweaked cut" exclusive to me!

They don`t call me Ian "Spielberg" Beech for nothing you know - I have to pay them!
