Those panning shots look OK to me Ian! (Not sure about the bog shot though...) Where was the Extra 300 or did you leave the lens cap on?

The red car is a 'Kirov', as Ferg says made for a NU commercial. It only has a 2.8 litre engine though

Well the geezer on the tannoy said 2.8... though a Ford V6 could also be a 2.9 (I know my TVRs!)

Cool, aint seen that for some time now. It was stored at the Airport years ago when I worked up there. It was a bit of a wreck then though, looked great on the TV but not so good close up then. I never saw it running, I assumed it was bettle based at the time,

There were two of them made. The Beetle based car was the one used in the advert and this is the other which was never more than just a mock up.
(I think that's right, but I'll check.)

For a 'non-existent' car it looks a whole better sorted, designed and finished than most low-volume car makers making real cars (at least from the outside; I haven't seen the inside). I'm thinking of Marcos, TVR, Morgan and other wannabees where 80% of the design looks good but then they spoil a bit.

Where do the Kirov headlight covers come from for example? They look as integral as any Ferrari, MacLaren etc.

The info next to the car said that he'd vacuum formed the headlight covers in the oven at home! He did make a lot of the bits himself, which is probably why it took 9 years to build.

And I'm sure the engine was a 2.7 Renault V6.
