Provisional plans for the "Flying pig" raid 25-09/02-10.....
Discussion
... are being cobbled together with the 25th September as the main date and 2nd October as back up in case of bad weather!!
If you fancy joining the hoon, please register your interest on this thread as I will need an idea of numbers for our "stop off" hosts!
Outline schedule as follows:
The provisional plan is for us to meet up at our main meeting point (our usual "monthly" watering hole for PHEA) The Flying Fortess (TFF) in Bury St Edmunds for a pie and pint before starting our group raid to TVR/Noble dealer Kerridges for a general peruse before continuing on to "Jimmys farm" (you may recall the BBC tv series last year) the Essex Pig Company! From there we will either go our separate ways or for those heading back west, another hoon back towards The Flying Fortress before parting!
I`ll try to include 2 satellite meeting points before the main meetup at "TFF" - one at Tescos Kings Lynn for those heading south from Lincs and Norfolk and another near Cambridge (to be decided) for those heading east from Cambs, Beds, Herts etc. Let me know if there is a requirement for another satellite meeting point for Essex/Suffolk ok.
The Flying Fortress - for those that don`t know it, the pub is just outside Bury St Edmunds and offers a good selection of food with a great carvery.
Kerridges www.kerridges.co.uk Main TVR/Noble dealer for our region with a good selection of motors, any test drives would have to be booked - plenty of coffee is promised for us here! Located in Needham Market just south of A14.
The Essex Pig Company www.essexpigcompany.co.uk better known to those who watched it on the tele last year as "Jimmys farm". They run a free range pig farm of rare breeds over 30 acres of farm and woodland. There is also a new nature trail to see the piggies in their natural environment and a farm shop which sells (vegetarians please skip the next sentence ) bits of their relatives as lovely bacon and sausages etc plus lots of local produce. Located in Whersted just south of A14 and Ipswich near Orwell Bridge.
OK That`s the basics - please register your interest, questions, other ideas etc and try to keep both dates open.
Edited to add: Tanja at The Essex Pig Company has emailed me to confirm parking and a welcome, plus she has asked for a ride in every car!

Sounds good to me Ian!
Not sure about the Noble dealer though
Just look at the TVRs then!
BTW I`m working on a competition for the "Flying Pig" raid - and you may just have a chance!
Entry criteria:
No red cars allowed
Yellow cars only
Must have a roof
Make must start with a "U" and have "GTR" somewhere in the model name!
What do you reckon?

I may come along! But I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up with you guys in my Golf TDi! Maybe just maybe I will have a new car by then - but still probably won't be able to keep up with you guys!
Don't worry Tom, if Crankedup brings his 1928 Austin you can have a drag race. First one to 30mph wins!
I would be up for this one too.
Enjoyed Lavenham and it would be good to have a natter with other PHEA'ers. I was far too interested in the hog roast at Lavenham to talk to anyone!
The only thing is that last time I went to "Jimmy's Farm" the road up there wasn't great. I know they have spent alot of cash there recently, so maybe its ok now.

Hi Elliot, we didn`t get to meet at Lavenham yesterday but I recognise the car now!! With regard "Jimmys Farm", (when did you last go there?) we will be inspecting the car park this week to check it`s ok. From memory, the single track road from the main road to the entrance of the car park was ok but some concern exists over the car park - it has been improved with gravel but we want to check out the gradient of the actual entrance precisely because of cars like yours!
Once checked (and assuming approved) I will firm up meeting times etc and post on here.
Please note that the 25th Septmember is the booked date with our "stop off" hosts and this will be the date we go - unless bad weather forces a re-schedule to the 2nd October!
