A long shot. But, if you don't ask.....

I'm looking for a driving instructor who can give my son a couple of lessons leading up to his test and, if possible, provide the test car.

My son has his driving test set for July 27th, in Norwich.

He had 15 hours of lessons before lockdown and he found a company who provide a two week intensive course with a test at the end.

To cut a long story short. They've failed to find an instructor for the intensive course of lessons but have booked the test. His old, London based instructor has taken him on for daily lessons down there, but understandably, can't come up to Norwich for the test.

We've rung so many EA instructors. They've all been too booked up to help.

Are you or do you know someone who can give our son maybe 4 hours of lessons between the 24th & 27th of July and take him to the Norwich testing centre?

WE ARE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO YOU.

Thanks!

Hi Blib.
You could try Next Gen.
My son and quite a few of his friends got on well with them.
Their website states they cover Norwich, however, Stowmarket isn't too far from you anyway.

Thank you.

ETA: I just called and like all of the others, they're booked solid. frown

My neighbour's daughter started learning to drive BC (Before Covid) - passed her theory early on - had plenty of lessons and had a driving test test booked up and then everything got shut/locked down

Her theory test pass expired during lockdown so she had to re-do that and the earliest date for a test was October so she has been looking weekly for cancellations and trying to find an instructor for a few brush up lessons and test time - this has proven impossible.

Today using her own car she passed (she will have three years no claims bonus next week)

She was quite concerned that not using a driving school car would count against her - I told she would be judged on her driving not the car she turns up in.
