Well I had the nice surprise of a 'welcome to the criminal fraternity' invitation turn up on my doormat this morning.....apparently I was doing 84 mph towards the nasty little weasel in his fund collector van on the A11 coming back from Stanstead last week.
I could has sworn it was much more, but hey, the law is always correct.

My bloody Road Angel didn't even make a murmur which is the worst thing........there goes £60 and my clean license just cos some ar5ehole coudn't be bothered to drive a few miles and sit outside a school, but sit on a dual carriageway and collect revenue to fuel the idle twat Prescotts Jaguar........

RANT OVER......

Typical "BMW" driver thinks he`s above the law!

Or was you in the Galaxy?!

I`ve had a few close shaves Nick and I think it can only be a matter of time for me as well, even though I`ve had a clean licence "forever"!

I`m sure the mobile scameras aren`t recognised by Road Angels?! Doesn`t it all work because Road Angels have GPS positioning on fixed cameras? I`m sure NeilMac got caught out with his Road Angel because of a mobile version not recognised.

well i thought that the 'laser' bit would have detected the Scamera???? and given me a laser alert???????

by the way, yes, i WAS in the BMW, but the Galaxy is totally capable of losing me my license too

the funny thing was, when the notice turned up in Kates name cos the BMW is registered to her, I sneakily opened it thinking i could get away with it.....I should have signed it as her and sent it back
giving her the 3 points!!!!

That stretch of road near Snetterton is one of their "hot" spots.

Bad luck.

Nick,

Fret not, you are not alone! The fg thing got me late last year as well. On my way up to Norwich and doing no more than 75 I had a car with four others in it including a former county highway engineer and a former policeman both of whom were adamant I was not speeding either.

Surprise surprise I was alleged to be doing 85. I dragged it out for 6 months asking for photographic evidence etc but in the end what the hell is the point in fighting it and going to court? You waste your time and end up no better off.

I was actually worried that they were doing me for putting a single finger up at the thing!!

It is nothing other than a parasite manned by parasites to fund parasites

The mobile units are radar normally and not laser. They are a camera in the back of a van....

Its only the guns that are laser AFAIK.

Visit www.ukspeedcameras.co.uk

Nasty site design... but they have some interesting info.

Watch out for Traffic Cops at Mulbarton (Lotus Cars) junction and scamera on overpass at Wymondham, just a bit further towards Norwich....

I keep expecting a nip to drop on the mat after my trip to the Boadicea Run the other week. Toady b*stard was hidden behind a fly-over. I know I was doing 75-ish at the time but still no evidence so far. Fingers crossed!

i reckon @75mph you'll be ok...unless it was a 30 limit

and they have to inform you within 14 days or the summons is null and void

Although not living in the area these days I have and do drive this section road regularly and have never seen a van .... yet all the posts on the forum about Norfolk/Suffolk these days are obxervations of extremely high numbers of scamera vans around .... suppose I've just been lucky ..

I do now seem to crawl from Snetterton in to Norwih as Dad does keep telling me where they are so I just proggramme them into the road angel wherever he says ..

Coming back the other month from Heathrow at about 0830 in the morning on a Sunday, the Scamera was on the hill just before Snetterton. Not content with that, there was a mate with a Radar gun near Wymondham as well!! Only 3/4 cars on the road at that time, no doubt they still managed to get someone. The Norfolk part of the A11 is just one big trap these days.

Nick - Are you sure it was you driving?

May be worth trying the Hamilton defence if your wife could have been driving at the time

Or claim it was impossible for you to ascertain the driver

You mean the bit where it had a bad accident record BEFORE it was dualled and the cameras went in AFTER. So the cameras caused a massive drop in the causuality figures.

Yah, just received my notice of intent today from Norfolk nick, caught me doing 87 in a 70 on the A11 just outside Norwich!! thursday last week by a Yellow camera van on a bridge over the A11.

Hopefully I will get just a £60 fine and 3 pts as the last time I got nicked was in 2000 doing 89 in a 70 on the A27 near worthing and then I got a £60 fine and 3 pts!

Regards to all
