PHEA MEET: SSM - Thursday 30th August
Discussion
Good evening everyone.
After a month's break, our Social Summer Meet, or SSM, returns for August
This time, it will be held on Thursday 30th August
As with previous SSMs, it will take place during the evening track session at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk - MAP LINK HERE.
The SSMs are basically an excuse to join your fellow PHers for a good catch up and watch the track action.
Should you wish to get out on track, you can book via the MSV website BOOKING PAGE HERE
BEFORE you do this, don't forget a "fasteddys" discount may be available, subject to numbers. To obtain this discount, you must please contact fasteddy through his PH Profile HERE, and then book with MSV over the phone. You also must book by Monday 27th August.
The SSM will begin around 4:30pm and end at about 8-8:30pm dependant on daylight, as the track time ends.
I cannot be specific as to our exact location within the pit area, so please look out for any cars with the "fasteddy" stickers and "GEE" on the registration.
Entry to spectate at the circuit is FREE, but obviously track time will incur costs.
Track time is also subject to the usual track day necessities: long leg & sleeve clothing, helmets, signing on, safety briefing and noise testing. Signing on is from 3:30pm, briefing is at 4:30pm.
You are free to arrive and leave whenever you wish, but please adhere to the site speed limits and watch for pedestrians and other cars' movements.
Please arrive and leave in a quiet, controlled manner to avoid any local upset. Thank you
Tyrells Cafe will be open for business.
So please Join us for another great SSM
You can decide on the day, but just to help us have an idea of how many to expect, simply add your name to this thread or please message me directly.
You can also sign up to the Event on our Facebook Page.
We hope to see you there!

Well the track time was a bit sporadic - I think MSV need to stiffen up the rules a little for drivers who cause red flagged sessions by driving way outside their ability or their cars capability - I think there were 5 session stoppages in total which really broke up the available session time and the last one involved 2 or 3 cars trying for the same section of tarmac.
I did a total of 52 track miles so approx 17 laps in total and the longest time out on track was 5 laps - it was very busy and I know in the corners the Carlton is a bit of a rolling road block but once I found some space I could at least have some fun on the straights
I got home with half a tank left and filled up again with a total of 75 miles since fill up and 35 L to put it back to full again that's an average of 9.4 mpg - Reminds me why I don't track this car under normal circumstances
Oh and on super unleaded I can do a whole lap of Snet in 6th under red flag conditions

Thank you to everyone who popped by Snetterton for this, our last SSM of the year.
The weather was on our side, so plenty of joined us.
It was great to meet a handful of new members and catch up with some regulars, all of whom made it along in some lovely machines
With a few members enjoying the MSV track evening, it was a shame to hear the circuit fall silent so often, but it looked a busy session.
As usual, once my photos have been uploaded, I'll post a link
Thank you to everyone for joining us for this year's SSMs. It's been a delight to attend and see you all
See you all soon!
