Hi, for some reason the regional forums aren't showing ( I only see GG and TP&P) so apologies for posting here.

Can anyone give me any pointers in travelling to and from Kings Lynn on the bus and train? Any Oyster card like cards to use? My son is nearly 16 and is going to be working there for a week. Having never actually been to Norfolk on public transport, and never to Kings Lynn, I'm clueless as a Londoner to how to get around there. He will be travelling to Hardwick Commercial Park from the station, is it easy to walk? I know that we need to take the no.6 bus but is there a travelcard that we can use for both Great Northern (Fen line) and the buses to make it easy to travel

Otherwise I guess I will pay for his taxi/Uber.

Also, last Q, any good places to eat in close proximity to the station for a teenager? Otherwise I will just tell him to grab lunch at Kings Cross

TYIA smile

Trainline.com - give it a go smile

Seriously though - Kings X to Cambridge take 47 minutes, Cambridge to Kings Lynn takes 49 minutes

Maybe a quicker route but I doubt it.

Hi I’m certain im going to use this train route but I meant inside Kings Lynn (bus routes). Is there a travelcard I could apply for contactless payments? Son doesnt have a card.

Thanks though smile

There are busses from outside the station and after 100m (across the main road) is the main bus terminus which will take you where you wish. I’m unsure about oyster style tickets but I bet there is something with discounts for youfs.

There are loads of places to eat (Norfolk Street and main bus terminus) close by and the station still has its original café (well over 100 years old) which serves simple food and is extremely reasonable (coffee is £1.40).

Lynn is well worth a look around – half of it is stunning, beautiful parks and buildings, the other half is terrible (due partly to some dreadful demolition in the 1950-60’s).

Its walkable at about 1.3 miles ish. Not sure any direct bus from train station to the industrial estate. Heres link of the journey on google maps. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/King's+Lynn,+1NX...

The bus station is in the town centre about 200 metres from train station up waterloo street then old market street. Might be easier to get a taxi if not up for the walk.
