Hi my sons prom is on the 29th June 2018. He has made me proud as a dad and due to not seeing him much I would love to make his dream come true by arriving at his prom in a super car.
Good on you but we need a bit more info here, what’s your budget and what type of supercars..? There might be a few on here who may be willing to volunteer for a pint or whatnot,Thank you all for replies.
I have looked at hire cars from companies but I don't have £1500 for a days hire that's not mentioning the lottery win for a deposit.
As normal boys he dreams of Lamborghini's and he has a major soft spot for Nissan GT old versions and Nissan GTR. He also likes Mercedes C63 Black Editions.
I always told him dream high ……. words I now regret lol.

Where is Jimmy Saville when you need him?
Edited to add:
On a serious note, forget the prom.
Take him on a super car experience day and he will get to drive the car(s) of his dreams and it will cost you less than a couple of hundred quid.

I’m sure there’s someone around with a C63 or a Skyline GTR that would be willing to do it for £250-500 or less even. I know if I had a C63 I would take that in a heartbeat!I have looked at hire cars from companies but I don't have £1500 for a days hire that's not mentioning the lottery win for a deposit.

Sorry if you feel I am looking for a freebie. This is not the case. I am just a proud father who would like to give his boy what he dreams. If I was rich then I would not be here asking for advice or help.
PLEASE if anyone sensible could advise or point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

Dream high is a good way to look at life, but a more important life lesson is learning to budget.I have looked at hire cars from companies but I don't have £1500 for a days hire that's not mentioning the lottery win for a deposit.

Go on to the Japanese sub forums on this website and ask for a member for a ride in a Skyline R32/33/34 GTR or a newer GTR.PLEASE if anyone sensible could advise or point me in the right direction.
Many thanks
And then go on to the Mercedes subforum and ask about a C63.
I’m sure there is a helpful person around who would be willing to do it for a little bit of money and a pint.

Be very, very careful.IIRC there's an explicit loophole to allow people to use their cars for weddings that doesn't apply to proms, so not only would insurance be void, but it counts as hire and reward...

Thank you. Happy to pay fuel, the time it takes and money towards the experience.
No problem. If I could I would come up and help but sadly I am not lucky enough to own a supercar.Shame that Pistonheads is fast becoming a hostile and irritating environment for new posters, with the unhelpful remarks at the top of the thread..

This is actually useful and helpful info.. but if tbe driver was ferrying around the OP’s child and has an accident, it makes the insurance void? What if it was done for free?IIRC there's an explicit loophole to allow people to use their cars for weddings that doesn't apply to proms, so not only would insurance be void, but it counts as hire and reward...

Come on, first post and he wants a massive freebie? I might join a boat forum and ask for a free cruise for my dear old mum Shame that Pistonheads is fast becoming a hostile and irritating environment for new posters, with the unhelpful remarks at the top of the thread..
OP is looking to pay someone with a nice car in the local area a nice amount simply to ferry his son to his school formal - where is the problem in that?
If I had the car he was after and was in his area I'd jump at the chance to take a young petrolhead out in a car he has a passion for - isn't that what we all started out as? Plus plenty of people who own such cars may also enjoy the attention they'd get turning up too...
