Suddenly I have a need for a car port... and it needs to be a cantielver design, eg this one: https://www.livsupplies.co.uk/product_desc3.php?id...

However it only comes as kit, and it's a bit beyond my DIY ability. Does anyone know someone who could erect this for me (Colchester/Ipswich area) please?

No recommendations, but any steel erectors or even conservatory fitters should be able to deal with it. They'll have the necessary lifting plant and tools / knowledge to fit it.

Assuming it's post fix into a concrete slab, and not cast in.

that carport is a cast in job, the loads on the single vertical arm will be very high.

is a conventional two sided carport out of the question?, or fixing to an exterior wall along one side?

That's the only design that will work. There can't be legs on the other side as it's a shared drive and sometimes there are three cars, sometimes two. The only wall on the 'leg' side is a 4' high retaining wall. So unless a clever structure could be designed to fit between house and garage - which I'm not clever enough to design given the loads required - that's the only design I know that will work.

The model I'm looking at is about 5.5m long and has three legs, but most have two.
