PHEA MEET: SSM - Tuesday 20th June
Discussion
Good afternoon everyone.
Next up in the PHEA 2017 Calendar the third SSM of the year, which is on Tuesday 20th June - Where is this year going?!
The SSM takes place during the evening track session at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk - MAP LINK HERE.
The SSMs are basically an excuse to join your fellow PHers for a good catch up and watch the track action.
Should you wish to get out on track, you can book via the MSV website BOOKING PAGE HERE
BEFORE you do this, don't forget a "fasteddys" discount may be available, subject to numbers. Therefore, it may prove beneficial to call MSV, quoting "fasteddys group discount" when booking.
The Meet will begin around 4:30pm and end at about 8-8:30pm, as the track time ends.
I cannot be specific as to our exact location within the pit area, so please look out for the "fasteddy" big white truck and a car with "GEE" on the registration.
Entry to spectate at the circuit is FREE, but obviously track time will incur costs.
Track time is also subject to the usual track day necessities: long leg & sleeve clothing, helmets, signing on, safety briefing and noise testing. Signing on is from 3:30pm, briefing is at 4:30pm.
You are free to arrive and leave whenever you wish, but please adhere to the site speed limits and watch for pedestrians and other cars' movements.
Tyrells Cafe will be open for business.
So please Join us for the Third SSM of the year
You can decide on the day, but just to help us have an idea of how many to expect, simply add your name to this thread or please message me directly.
You can also sign up to the Event on our Facebook Page.
We hope to see you there!
Darren

Thank you to everyone who made it out for a lovely evening at Snetterton. The weather was perfect, meaning a busy evening.
I saw many, many PHers dotted around, and indeed chatted with many of you. Apologies if I missed you or didn't chat long, but I hope you can make another SSM during the summer.
Getting out on track in Mum's Range Rover Sport was a hoot, dog guard in place!
I surprised just how well it handled and gripped for such a weighty, top-heavy car. The tyres certainly talk to you, but the "Dynamic" sports suspension setting masked the car's weight very well indeed. Its power was lovely, almost touching 120mph on the start/finish and back straights.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest drawback was the car's brakes. They are beefy, but could only last a maximum of 4 laps before cooling was essential.
The other thing left wanting was the seats' support - there was plenty of bracing necessary for driver and occupant!
I overtook a grand total of 2 cars all evening (although one of those was fasteddy allowing me pass), but I didn't care; it was such tremendous fun. Sadly I can't see another outing for her on track, but I'm pleased to have given it a go even if I didn't fully exploit the capabilities - that's down to a mixture of my own abilities and not wanting to make that phone call to Mum!
I took a few photos and shot a video out on track. Once uploaded, I'll post a link here.
Once again, thank you to all who made it out. I hope to see you for the next SSM, which is immediately after the PHEA Trackday on Monday 10th July.
Next up is the Calendar, though is the Summer RunTHIS Sunday 25th June.
I hope to see you again soon!
