So just a selection of pictures from me from Sunday
Whole event was held under the umbrella of CSCC Classic Car Championships
Sat
CSCC Advantage Motorsport Future Classics
CSCC Adams & Page Swinging Sixties Group 2
AR Motorsport Morgan Challenge
CSCC Adams & Page Swinging Sixties Group 1
XJ Restorations/Toyo Tires Jaguar Saloon and GT Championship
CSCC Meteor Suspension Open Series
AR Motorsport Morgan Challenge
CSCC Adams & Page Swinging Sixties (1960s), Classic K (Pre-1966 FIA) and Advantage Motorsport Future Classics series (1970s and 1980s) plus the new for 2016 CSCC Meteor Suspension Open series which sees competitors from the whole weekend coming together to race against each other, including cars that don't quite 'fit' the other series regulations.
Sunday was
CSCC Tin Tops
CSCC Mintex Classic K
CSCC Modern Classics
XJ Restorations/Toyo Tires Jaguar Saloon and GT Championship
CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens Groups 1 and 2
CSCC New Millenium and Dunlop Puma Cup
CSCC Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens (Caterham type), Modern Classics (1990s), New Millennium (2000 to present) and Tin Tops (Hot Hatches).
As an aside my intention was to practice my panning skills because I suck at that and it something I want to improve. Whilst I can get good shots of cars on track they always look like they are parked (no motion blur) and as soon as I try to get panning shots with motion blur but the car still in focus my technique/camera knowledge falls down
I'm sure I'm not alone in finding it difficult to approach a stranger to ask for advice but after a frustrating 60 mins where pretty much most shots were dreadful - I asked another chap with a camera and long lens who quite willingly looked at my shots so far and pointed out where he thought I was going wrong as well as drill down into the settings to get me a starting point in terms of ISO and Shutter speed.
What was really nice was a bit later on he checked in with me to review how I was getting on - look at some of the pictures taken so far and then gave me some more help/guidance.
So after a days racing I'd flattened two batteries for my Digital SLR and taken about 2100 shots.
Previous attempts at panning had resulted in a 1 or at best 2 acceptable shots out of 10 - so anything more than 600 would be a result.
After chucking out the obvious failures in a first pass (out of focus or half a car shots) and then being a lot more picky on a second pass I was down to 1700 pics. A huge improvement and I think I could quite easily go to straight to settings that work for me at the next race meeting I go to.
Anyway you want pics don’t you?
Big cats
I like these – I can’t think of a more unsuitable track choice (well other than a Monza) and therefore it’s great and makes me smile
Come in many flavours and colours
1450 kgs – I know what that’s like
Nice to see later models providing bigger rims
Incontinent cat
I don’t think it was fuel (expensive if it was) never got black flagged
Whoops a kitty
Lot of momentum in 1450 kgs when it gets out of shape
Pistonheads answer to any question is MX-5
Lotus Esprit
E30 (these always look like a great choice for a track day car)
Alfa
Not at all retro but I know @admin has a soft spot for a Smart
More door E36
Less Boot Compact (no idea on the E number)
I’m not good with identifying Porkas – 968 (don’t shoot me if I’m wrong – it’s just a guess)
Hive waiting to leave
Tina rear lights – Griffith – was doing a great job keeping a Lotus Elan honest in the race but I think it came to an abrupt end in the kitty litter?
Out on track - Am I alone in thing that's over tyred and underwheelbased
Talking of Tina (Gulf colours)
And Elan (in Gulf colours)
SupaNova
Missing the apex by a country
And another (this one liked a bit of rally action)
After a spin
Not sure where the bonnet went but it got him a retirement – apparently you can’t continue
More if people want??

More if people want??
Or even if they don't
A bit modern for my tastes but it did hustle
No shortage of smaller cats
Too orangey for crows
Green credentials
Alternative colours are available
A small Triumph (don’t complain if I’m wrong – just tell me what it is)
TVR
Tidy 2002
Suspension movement resulting in paint removal
Birds of Prey (at least two of these Falcons)
Both made great progress down the straights but not so much in the corners – I’m pretty sure the one above had a problem re-starting in the pits at the driver change and lost a lot of time/laps so his driving style went from neat and tidy to a bit showboaty (could have been the difference in drivers)
Braking got later
Turn in more aggressive, and throttle control had a little less finesse
Of course it didn’t end well
Followed by a swift escape to the country
I did like the taxi info
Amazed this had any tyres left after an hours racing
Not a Scooby - I know it's not a Scooby just not a clue what it is?
Have a pony for your troubles
Owned the 11’s
Healey Rotation
Another Healey
Mm Gee Bee
Cocking a wheel
Elite
Winning Elan
Older Cat
Ginetta (More than one)
Older 5 – E28?
E36 in M flavour - I did say I was practicing Panning so that meant a lot of experimentation
Elise – these really don’t seem to have aged at all
Another Alfa
I think that's enough - 1700 pics in my bucket but you'd have to be very bored

Hi Ian.
I think you were stood next to Me and the 'Contessa' at one point. ( not sure though, as we have never been introduced !).
Replies to some of your quotes on your photos.
RE- TVR
Out on track - Am I alone in thing that's over tyred and underwheelbased
The cars for this race series require tyre and wheel dimensions from the period ( pre 1966 )
RE-Triumph
A small Triumph (don’t complain if I’m wrong – just tell me what it is)
It's a Triumph TR2. 1991cc 4cyl built in 1954.
RE-Mystery car.
Not a Scooby - I know it's not a Scooby just not a clue what it is?
It is a Reliant Sabre 6. 2553cc straight six from ford. Only 77 made !!
I hope that is of some help.
Must say hello at some point !!

If I was beside you then I'm sorry we didn't engage in conversation - Opportunity missed I'd say
I really enjoyed the racing nice to see old cars being pedalled hard
