Griff 500 or 400 ?
Discussion
I'm currently looking to get back to having a Griff.I've had a HC 500 and SE 500. Not looking to spend more than about £15k as I still have the Noble.
This is the car for the wife (well that's what I tell her), but the question is should I go for a good pre cat 400 as I have found what looks to be a good one, or go for a 500 with extra grunt, not that that's too important as it will be a second toy !
Help from you esteemed Griff owners 500 and 400 please.
Wryka

Otherwise I`d recommend a Chimaera
Oh Gawd.... here we go again. Get back in that kitchen Ian!
I'm not knowledgeable enough to comment re: 400 or 500. 400 for sound and 500 for go but, I would imagine, the important thing is to find a 'good' one....... or maybe one of each .

Hi Wryka, I think you`ll find "Crankedup" has his 4.3 for sale and fairly local.
In fact you've probably met him at a show - have e-mail addy if you want.
My 4p worth, having had both models, is first to ask how much money you want to spend? Both are good, but very different to drive. Don't worry that the 4.0 is 'only' a 4.0, it is more than adequate
Also, search the Griffith forum archives, as this question is not a new one!

If you can find a "good" 4.0 Pre-Cat go for it, plenty of power & of course noise! Mind you I dont think I would buy my wife one- I would buy her a Golf Cart as Ian suggested.

So your choice is the "voluptuos" shape of the Chimaera or the "bathtub" shape of the Griff Mind you, having said that, "our" Chimaera is actually my wifes!
Sorry Ian the Chimaera just doesn't do it for me. It reminds me of a pumped up MGB.(no offense intended mate)
The Griff is the icon what more can I say, smooth lines, unique shape and that head turning noise.
The noise is one thing I miss on the Noble - so I drive along in front and Linda drives just behind me making all the noise - problem solved.

No offence taken Wryka "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as they say! Do you want some Optrex?!
