The colour is called ford tango, we could do that within a day easily at our workshop. www.kidmanspaint.com

he's too far out of your area, I said I'd ask an expert if it could be done by a driveway repair specialist and ask for a guide price, so at least if someone quotes him £1000 he can politely decline...It would depend entirely on the competence of the repairer TBH, it's a pretty good colour to do but I would still blend into the NSF door to make it perfect, so you're looking at 3 panels to be painted, as a general rule in 'SMART' Repair you wouldn't do more than two panels that would exceed 1 metre square in surface area, yes it could be done but my days of risking it are long gone, we would only do that in controlled conditions to ensure it was perfect.
From the front wing picture there looks to be a bit of a ripple along the arch line so a skim would be needed, prime and prepare the wing, D/A the NSF Corner, prime and prepare, key the front door for blend then mask and paint the lot, with a flick into door with some colour. We would be around the £350 mark to do that, if the wing didn't need filler it would be a little less but hard to tell from the picture.

This will make you laugh - I've got the engine stripped down to do the timing chainsCome on! I've been waiting years to see the family Loti

What I found was both amusing and interesting
This is the inside of the lower cyl head timing cover
and this is the rear of the damper/timing/front pulley assembly
It made me chuckle

Green thing goes for MOT today so I've been a bit busy with it
- pass it goes to Le Mans for the classic
- Fail it goes and sits in the corner in shame (again)
And I take the SLK to Le Mans with a tooth brush and a spare pair of cacks as luggage.

3rd option above:
- Fail, remains at garage to be repaired to become the hero car of the Breakfast Run

It didn't Pass but I suppose this was option 4......- Fail, remains at garage to be repaired to become the hero car of the Breakfast Run

Failed on
Emissions (De-catted C36GET engine)
Play in lower front wishbone ball joints - deemed to dangerous to drive and therefore they were unable to brake test the car (LSD so brake rollers are a no no)
Emissions is an easy thing to resolve - I just have to weld some cats back in but I didn't really want to do that and after some discussion - pre 1992 - WOL chassis number (bit of a bitsa car) - the tester consulted his book of rules and decided it could be tested as a non cat car.
That left - Play in lower front wishbone ball joint well that was resolved by doing something I haven't done since 1991 - I paid the garage to fix it as I don't have a window for getting the car fixed myself and back for a re-test.
Once fixed - brake test carried out and I got a white sheet of paper that means game on for Le Mans
I'll be using that garage again - must be very local to you Darren three directions you can go
So tomorrow's task is rent (Tax) in the window and a few little jobs to do as well as load it up for a 500 mile drive having had just 35 miles to check it out.....
Looking at last year's route length, must have been 9:30
Some serious bits there, glad all sorted for a long range shake down of years of almost no movement.
You can go a forth way at that garage, but that doesn't work out too well
Accidents often happen on roads within a mile of where one lives. Trust me, it's local.
