Hi all

Apologies for the continued delay with the photo project - blame it on parts availability for 20yr old cameras.

In the meantime, I have an idea for a sister project to do whilst I'm waiting for the stills camera to get back to health.

You may have seen this video on Carthrottle: http://www.carthrottle.com/this-is-what-it-looks-l...

Well, I believe it would be easy for us to top that. So, hoping there is someone around here who has a little bit of private land that I can film on. Access to a race track would be great, but I don't expect miracles. A very large (and empty) car park, or a quiet industrial estate would do.

If you had a nice car you'd like filmed, bonus, but otherwise I have a couple of people who I think might be interested in providing cars.

Would be grateful for suggestions.

Thanks all smile

My Dealer Day at Snetterton last week would have been ideal mate. I may be able to sort something there so give me a ring or pop by the workshop to discuss

I know of many places you might be able to get access to if some research is done such as Bentwaters and an abandoned factory in Maningtree

If I could get access to Snet that would be ideal. I'm not in any rush to do this as I'm currently in Liverpool on a shoot for the rest of the month, but would be great if you can let me know of similar days coming up.

Malachimon, the abandoned factory sounds very interesting, do tell more?

There is an old industrial area near Manningtree (it's obvious when on the train) and I'm sure getting into that area for filming isn't hard. It looks like something from Chernobyl or some apocalypse

Amazing, I'll have to look into that.

I think we could create something quite fun!

Lots of it has now been knocked down with only a small area left standing, right at the very back of the site, which is the bit closest to the railway which you can see. You need to go under the railway via a car size tunnel/arch, however you cannot reach this tunnel by car as the have built an embankment across the the site, out of rubble, near the front of the site to prevent access to the rear.

Access to the first 100m of so of the site is still possible by car if you are happy to remove a section of temporary fencing.

The bit that does still stand is pretty impressive, obviously it is now in a state of absolute ruin, but it is still very interesting.

Not really ideal for cars, but if you do go on there, give me a shout, I'm only 5 mins away.

Plus might be tempted to use one of my cars?

For anyone interested, I did something a bit like this a long time ago, when I was still a student.

This was the result - I didn't realise there was still a copy about.

I like that - got to ask what's the music playing when the triple gets started & rides off?

I'll have to dig it out, the music is sourced from a site called "Audio Network" - they provide licensed music for everything from student films to major TV & cinema.

It's called "Glad Rags" or something like that, bit of a 70's mock-up.
