PHEA Event: Track Event - Wednesday 4th June
Discussion
Afternoon everyone.
I wish to announce our next 2014 Calendar Event - our Track Day on Wednesday 4th June at Snetterton Circuit. This event is in its 3rd year, being very popular.
It is an MSV Trackday in Open Pit Lane Format. Signing on for these Events usually begins around 7:30am with a driver's briefing 8:30 - a FULL ITINERARY can be found HERE
Normally this costs £189, but there is a possible 10% discount available for PHEA's Event, if we are able to have more than 10 of us attend. We have achieved this easily in previous years.
One of our members, Fasteddy, has been able to use his past experience and contacts to secure Exclusive Use of the Archie Scott Brown Facility and Garages for PHEA - this is situated at the end of the pit lane.
This means we have our own entrance/exit for the track, along with our own marshal and of course our own private space for storage of tools, fuel, etc.
We will also supply some snacks and drinks
All this makes for a special Track Day experience with a VIP atmosphere.
When booking, all you need to do is quote "Fast Eddy's Group". It is best to book over the phone directly with MSV using the number at the bottom of the page linked above
Payment is not usually taken until nearer the time once final numbers are known, but please book as soon as possible so we know the numbers - we'll also know how many tea bags to bring
So if you fancy trying something different with PHEA, please join us for another TRACK Event!
Once booked, please let me know by either posting on here or emailing me directly.
Darren

***LINK AND PRICE AMENDMENT!***
As has been pointed out, I made a mistake with the price and time, which has now been corrected in my OP.
Apologies, but to confirm, it will cost £189 and the CORRECT LINK IS HERE

Is this trackday newbie friendly? I'm not a nervous driver or anything, and my car is pretty competent, but it would be my first trackday and I don't want to jump in at the deep end.
This trackday is open to allcomers, so there will be a wide range of cars and drivers. I expect the cars to range from race cars on slicks to my standard MG ZR on cheap road tyres. MSV, the organisers, recommend the novice only or road car trackdays for your first time out. However, it is a trackday so normal track day rules will apply, i.e. no stupidity, no timing, courtesy to other drivers, over taking on the perscribed side and only on the straights etc.
There will always be cars traveling at different speeds. Some on warm up/cool down laps, some due to faster cars or drivers. At snetterton there are plenty of places faster cars can pass, so long as the slower car follow the rules. (All cars should stick to the racing line through the corners though, else they'll be even slower!)
I wouldn't say no to this being your first trackday - we all start somewhere. I would suggest you avoid the mad rush first thing, and take advantage of the clear track that usually developes in the afternoon.

What he said, plus some on site tuition will be worth it's weight in gold. Just £25 I think for a session. However, it is a trackday so normal track day rules will apply, i.e. no stupidity, no timing, courtesy to other drivers, over taking on the perscribed side and only on the straights etc.

I wouldn't worry about starting on an open pit lane for your first event, i did the same. When you book for the event add on some instruction from one of the msv instructors, it will really help build your confidence. And I am sure that a few of us will be taking others around for some laps which also really helps being in the passanger seat and getting to know the best lines to take around track. And watch out for the white metro on track, guys a real hooligan!Hi guys, seems MSV have less numbers in our group than I think we have booked. Has everyone from here booked by phone and mentioned the Fast Eddy,s group?
We are a couple short of making the 10 so anyone who is coming and has not booked yet, please do so soon so we all get the discount.
Darren are you participating in your event?
Cheers
