The time has come to renew the sills on the 944. I'm going to take the plunge and get some genuine sills from Porsche rather than using the ‘cover’ sills you find on eBay, but the cutting out and welding is well beyond my abilities as likely to also need repairs to inner sills and bottom of front wings. I’m going to strip out interior and remove front wings but can anyone recommend anyone who’s good at this type of work but doesn’t charge the earth or take forever.
A quick trawl on the interweb has thrown up Classic-Vintage Vehicle Services at Long Stratton– are they known to anybody?
I’ll post a piccie up of the tin worm when I get a chance.
Cheers

Don't know what's up with the website, there's usually loads of images of the work they've done?
I go there for servicing and MOT prep but they've also done some bodywork where they cut out and repaired a rear bottom panel that was rusty and had a previous bodge. Excellent finish and plan to eventually have them do a complete respray.

Thought you had enough projects on the go so didn’t want to ‘volunteer’ you - do a search for 944 sill repair on your welding forum and have a look at what’s involved, before committing yourself any further. B'stard Child said:

You’d be hung drawn & quartered on here if they knew what you are referring to as a green POS Always wanted to get up close and personal with one, so no problem helping irrespective of my welding needs – providing you plan to do it over the next 10 weeks, rather than the usual last minute all-nighter!

It's not waiting for a start that's the issue, but having to chase to get any progress once it’s sat in a workshop gathering dust that's the problem.cheers
