Hi

anyone know of a race car that can be hired for a race at Snett? I'd need it for a track day or test day to aclimatise first. I only want to do one or two races per year. Not bothered on the car / race as long as it is capable of keeping-up. Something novice friendly like MX5.

Thanks

Might be worth going to the sort of thing that you fancy racing in, seeing if anyone is running a similar car, and speaking with them?

They might be interested in helping you out for a "contribution" towards their costs.

I assume you have costed up just buying a cheap MX-5 and it is too much?

Thanks for the reply. The cheaper championships can have a car on the grid for well under £5k so its not the cost that is the issue - its time. I don't want to do more than 2 races per year so those camshafts / tyres / dampers that I really ought to replace to keep up with the front-runners are very expensive per use when they only get used twice a year. Plus I don't want it cloggin-up my garage and don't want to have to spend time fixing or imporving it. So arriving at circuit, do race, go home is very attractive, even though it is quite expensive.

There are several firms that will rent out cars but I can't find one based at Snetterton which would make the teasting part easier.
