Hi,

my car came with a new alternator fitted by the previous owner. After about 2000 miles it is very noisy, which is probably because he fitted it at an (almost imperceptible) angle. So I want to get a firm to rebuild it (might well just need a bearing) and refit it carefully.

I know I could buy a new one a refit myself but I've had lots of issues with replacement parts recently, including being stranded by 2 brand new fuel pumps twice in the same week, so I’d rather someone do it who would then need to stand by their work. Also it’ll need different spacers, washers etc to get it lined-up properly and I don’t have a big selection to hand like a professional would.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

The only folks that I have used are Bacton Auto Electrics.
A few miles from you but really top guys. I have recommended them to several people and had positive feedback each time.
They do a lot of work on classic components. They were recommended to me by Clive Manvers ( triumph specialist )
Try giving them a buzz ... 01449 781028..
