@slippery do you have a HSV?
I did have (VXR8), but sold it a couple of years ago, after it cost me over £10k in repairs in 12 months. Used to have a Holden Commodore SS 5.7 V8 (badged as a Chevrolet Lumina SS as it was a UAE import) and that did its best to bankrupt me too! I borrowed a friend's JCW Cooper S for a few days many years ago. Great fun. Think I may have met you!? I use to be with Jim who had a monaro, but he has sold it earlier in year & we don't speak now, but no loss there!!!
I am on my second MINI cooper S, great fun & yes much cheaper! The Monaro was always having problems.....
Hope you don't have any more car troubles!

Oh know how come you don't want another MINI? Yes much better with colour coded & JCW Kit!
Mine was crap - build quality on early R56's isn't exactly renowned for being brilliant.Oh know how come you don't want another MINI? Yes much better with colour coded & JCW Kit!

I hadn't realised until I read an article recently, quite how much work Rover had put into developing the MINI prior to the BMW takeover. I had always wrongly assumed it was a wholly BMW concept.
I must admit to being surprised at that to....... Until I saw the prototype shell turn up on eBay, looked very much like a Bini but with a Rover badge and different head lightsI prefer the classic look myself, my son has a 96 clubman conversion with a 1400 Astra engine in it and I will always remember the purple one I built him, deseamed, bespoke body kit, rover 200 seats, looked a real treat until he rolled it -_-
