Not very well advertised but worth a heads up to the culture vultures amongst you. At Cinema City Norwich, Tuesday, 10th September.
Charity Gala Premiere of RUSH
Tuesday 10 September, 6.15
We’re very excited to be hosting the regional premiere of Ron Howard’s new film RUSH in conjunction with StudioCanal and Classic Team Lotus.
FROST/NIXON’s director and scriptwriter, Ron Howard and Peter Morgan, now team up for a very different battle of wills: the intense rivalry between legendary Formula One drivers James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl). In the 1976 World Championship, Lauda suffered horrific burns in a crash at the German Grand Prix, thereby apparently handing Hunt the series. But Lauda made an extraordinary comeback and fought Hunt to the bitter end.
Classic Team Lotus are hosting this special charity event at Cinema City and it promises to be a very memorable evening! The fun will begin at 5.00 in our courtyard.
•VIP area with a complimentary drink and canapés
•A Q&A after the film, with key Team Lotus personnel from 1976, including mechanics Bob Dance, Chris Dinnage and Ian Dawson
•A Team Lotus Formula One car from the JPS era will be on display
•The 1976 trophy from the Japanese Grand Prix won by Mario Andretti will be on display
•A Team Lotus print in a presentation tube, signed by the Team Lotus personnel at the Q&A, will be given to each ticket holder
•A raffle, including a great prize of a ride-and-drive experience, plus factory tour at Lotus Cars
Tickets are £25 and 100% of the ticket value will go to Classic Lotus’s nominated charity, PBL Support Group: Care for Life at Home Fund (Registered Charity Number 278667). The fund’s objective is to help the Priscilla Bacon Lodge to provide palliative care in the home for complex cancer cases, for those wanting to spend their last days at home.
Tickets will be available from Monday 2 September at the Cinema City Box Office, on 0871 902 5724 or online.
RUSH is in cinemas from Friday 13 September.
