Laser tracking
Discussion
I went to TC tyres, North Walsham, Norfolk yesterday where I had two rear tyres fitted and balanced and laser tracking done on my 350Zed.
They have the latest equipment for taking large tyres off rims without damaging them as well as facilities for nitrogen filling the tyres which I also had done.
Peter, the guy who does it is very experienced and couldn't have been more helpful. Comes very highly recommended but they have no website. Phone is 01692-409952 or e-mail at tc.tyres@aol.com.thumbup

Was it proper 4 wheel alighnment or the not so good set the rears up to be parallel to the fronts cheapo "tracking"?
I believe it was the latest all singing all dancing stuff. They had 4 devices to clamp on each wheel and the computer screen gave a camber, castor and toe-in measurement for each wheel. Only toe-in on the front of mine is adjustable though.Zed 44 said:
Not sure how much the alignment would be but with 2 rear tyres fitted, all 4 balanced and the alignment, it came to £150 which I felt was very reasonable considering the time they spent on it and the investment in the equipment.
£150 for 2 rear tyres and a 4-wheel alignment? That sounds rather too inexpensive.
What brand of tyres were fitted?
I'm presuming these are the standard 225/45 R18, or is your Z a grey import with 17" wheels?
The last time I had a full 4-wheel alignment done on my Z, by SCA in Norwich, it was approx. £80.

Did they do caster camber and toe-in adjustments on the corners that could be adjusted as well as re-centre the steering and re-calibrate the traction control and ABS?That sounds rather too inexpensive.

That's all part of what's carried out during a 4-wheel alignment.Zed 44 said:

What?If someone has told you that that has been carried out as part of an alignment check, I'm calling BS.
And I'll re-ask, what brand of tyres were fitted?

Watched what, exactly?
And for the third time, what brand of tyres were fitted for that price?
Firstly I was wrong on a couple of points. And for the third time, what brand of tyres were fitted for that price?
TC Tyres has the latest in alignment technology which is called 3D and aligns not only the wheels up with each other but with the centreline of the car. Laser alignment only aligns the wheels one side to the other.
After the alignment is done the computer checks the "steering angle sensor" which could have changed in the alignment process and re calibrates it to the ESP as required.
The tyres were "fitted" not supplied as I originally said
