Recently bought a New Garrett T25 (from a HKS kit) for my MX5,except this one is slightly different. This one has a 4 stud exhaust housing, while my other T25 (from a Rover Coupe) is the usual 5 stud.

I popped over to Fast Eddys and we tried out a T2 gasket and only the bottom two lined up. This coming Wednesday i'll be heading over to a friend's to swap over the housings and see if they're compatible. I rang Turbo Dynamics and they couldn't tell me if they were, also emailed HKS and they didn't have a clue either.

Long story short,if the housings aren't compatible, can anyone recommend a fabricator that could make a flange and a new downpipe? Current downpipe looks like this, its very short. Would need the same but with the new flange

I went to Visit CS Engineering down Sweet Briar,Norwich and he said he could make a flange but it wouldn't be cheap, and that he doesn't tend to work on cars. He suggested going to see Mark at Power & Performance. I also got recommended a fabricator in Horsford,Norwich but haven't been to see either yet.

I would recommend Mark but again won't be cheap.

Speak to Gary at AP Tuning over in LEnwade to see a) if he could do it or b)who he would recommend. They do a lot of fabrication work for their race cars.

I went to see Mark today and got a price. I knew it was gonna be pricey but wasn't expecting that much. Went to the other place in Horsford and after explaining what I needed,he then followed with "do you want the end threaded"

Not sure at which point I mentioned it needing to be threaded, seems he didn't have a clue anyway. So that will be a no go.

Try a nissan 300zx twin turbo down pipe. They use T25 4 bolt downpipe fitments and looking at pics on google seem to look very similar. Not sure on the exhaust fitment side on your mx5 though. Hope this helps!

I did find a 300ZX downpipe but its in cast and I ideally need it in stainless. But all the downpipes I've found all include the other exhaust parts and not just the downpipe. I can buy a weld on 3 bolt flange for the other end of the ZX downpipe, but again it needs to be in stainless

What about getting a second hand stainless 300zx downpipe and getting the turbo flange on it cut off (owners clubs for cheap?). Then modifying your current down pipe, cut off flange and weld on the 300zx one? Got to be a cheaper option than having a custom one made and you get to retain your current downpipe with out more fitting issues on the exhaust end. Can't beleive how little choice there is on a downpipe fitment for this turbo

No need to worry guys, i sorted it. Had a flange made and made the elbow/downpipe. A slight improvement on the old one me thinks.

They do excellent work and are very reasonably priced. I take all my stuff there and have never had a problem.
