Realistic commuting times Norwich to Thornage?
Discussion
Hi ya, I'm relocating to Norwich this summer (from Berkshire) and am a complete newbie to the area. I have found a job in Thornage I'm really interested in but am trying to suss out what the realistic driving times at commuter peak times will be. Google estimates 46-48 mins depending if go Holt Rd/B1149 or A1067/B1110, are they right? I guess going in my favour is that I'm going from Norwich to Thornage and am hoping that traffic is less than those fighting to get into Norwich for work. Any timings/advice from locals in the area or drivers who do this route very much appreciated.
It's going to be quite variable according to which bit of Norwich you're in. There's no Northern bypass of Norwich so it depends how far 'around' the city you need to go compared to the Holt Road (until they build the NDR..... sometime after we all get personal jetpacks)
I quite often make the trip from the outskirts of Norwich to Thornage as we have a client in the village and I tend to do this in about 35 minutes driving like a perfectly sane human being... http://goo.gl/maps/ljegW
However, this is Norfolk and close to Holt, so you may well find rolling roadblocks in the shape of a Honda Jazz. Get stuck behind one and yes, you'd want to allow yourself 45 minuets.
