RAF marham August trackday?
Discussion
Sorry wasn't very clear on my previous post.
Eandy should of said:
This is a timed runway event on what is probably the finest runway in the country it is held at RAF Marham Norfolk on an active RAF airbase.
Times are recorded for 30-130 acceleration as well as top speed for those that wish to have a go at the record which stands at around 218mph!
30-130; is the best opportunity for you to understand the REAL performance of your car! This isn't a standing start, but a rolling start from below 30mph after which you have approx 1.5miles of straight ultra smooth tarmac to pass 130mph - or carry on for a top speed run.
There's no running order so you can run when you want (subject to the queue - which we get through as quickly as possible!) The average number of timed runs is approx 5 or 6, but we've seen some drivers do 15+ runs. You are welcome to do a run without a VBox (or use your own if you have one) to bypass the queue and go straight out, but only data from the MLR's calibrated VBoxes being used on the day will be used in the results.
The current 30-130 record is still held by RossW in his Evo6 in a time of 5.84s.
30-130 EVENT:
We will use the full length of the 1.5 mile / 60m wide runway of super smooth tarmac.
All cars will be fitted with a Racelogic V-Box in front of the MLR unit to record your car's performance.
After completing a 30-130 run drivers have the option to complete a top speed run if they wish. This is not compulsory but you may not have a better, safer and legal way to find out your cars top speed
Will turn out to be a kind of VMax day really I guess.Times are recorded for 30-130 acceleration as well as top speed for those that wish to have a go at the record which stands at around 218mph!

Gents,
Apologies for the delay in my reply! As stated, the event this coming weekend (10-11th August) is the 30-130 weekend for the MLR boys. It's a closed event, as in you can't register through our normal website. You can I believe register through the MLR website though, however I'm fairly sure that all the spaces have been allocated.
This event is infact one that should have happened earlier this year as Andy said, but we had to postpone in until now.
Hopefully, the weather will be better for them than last year when it was wetter than an otter's pocket! The 'Hulk' still managed 218mph though!
Back on topic! We will return in the Autumn with our regular track event, we're hoping to get a date confirmed in the next few days!

Hoo-rah! I'll be there again if possible; looking forwards to it now as after a long search I finally found where my missing BHP was hiding. The car's now also a bit lighter as a few more things have fallen off.
Crikey Rob - you sure you can cope with 64bhp? That car was mad enough with 63.
You are welcome to take my 302 bhps for a drive.....
When I was there for the 30-130 day speaking to some of the RAF volunteers I took out for a spin as a thank you a couple were mentioning if I'd be coming back in October for the track day so must be somewhere a pencilled in date but obviously being an active airbase these things take a little bit of time to finalise dates.
