Copied and pasted from club newsletter - maybe of interest to someone on here. (I'm thinking of doing the Run if they'll let me enter.)
cheers
Paul

Sunday June 23rd - Two events taking place in Watton, Norfolk. "Peoples Choice Car Show" and the Midsummer Classic Car Run. Both events run by the Sporting Car Club of Norfolk in association with Watton Town. Watton will close the High Street to enable the "midsummer classic car run" to start "Le Mans style" and embark on a 70 - 80 mile route, rally plaque, route book and map provided. The "Peoples Choice Car Show" will commence after the start of the Mid Summer Classic run and will be in display format. Judging will be based on votes from town visitors who will chose the "3 cars they would most like in their garage". Bars and cafes will remain open all day, with live music to make it a family run out. For more information on "the peoples choice car show" plus entry form contact Chris Edwards, Chairman of Watton Town on 01953 881234 or chris@edwardsnews.co.uk. If you wish to take part in the "midsummer classic car run" email classic@sccon.co.uk.or phone Suzanne Newson on 01502 716280 (after 6 p.m.) Closing date 17th June.

Sounds interesting. Do the cars for the show need to be road registered as it might be a good way of promoting racing?

Sorry, I wouldn't know as I'm not connected to the event; just thinking of going on the run.

I'd suggest you contact Chris Edwards, details in original post (think the telephone number is a work number)he's the local councillor and petrolhead who's organising it all
cheers

No they do not have to be road registered. I know that race cars are already booked in including Lotus F1. I,m booked in and really looking forward to this event.

Entry list for the run here: http://www.sccon.org.uk/mc13/html/2013entrylist.ht...

I'm booked in with the Laurel, done it for a few years now and they usually come up with a good route which takes me on roads I've never explored before. Hopefully we won't have the torrential rain encountered last year!

Received the final instructions yesterday, looks like the route is taking us down into Suffolk and in a loop around Bury, finishing at Snetterton.

Now got our instructions as well. Can't remember the numbers but we're currently the last 2 entered.

Ah that's what all the classic cars were doing at Snetteron. I left about 2:30pm and passed a load of classics coming up the drive. Should have stayed a bit longer smile
