Hi I just need a service and like to support the local garages, and its good to know where to take the car if anything goes wrong.
Its a mark 3 hard top.

Eddie, do you fancy a quick swap of my diff oil on my mk3?

I've got the sump plugs and oil, just can't get it over an inspection pit I'd normally use at my parents house due to the garage being full of my sisters processions after she passed away last month

It's not gonna be the biggest job in the world for you, but every little helps!

Sounds good, thank you.
I'll give you a call next week once the weather starts to improve (it sits in my garage currently all clean, I can't be arsed with getting it wet and dirty unnecessarily as I'll feel obliged to clean it again!)
Cheers

Its only a MX-5, not a ferrari, just take it to any garage!

I don't think it's about the brand of car is it, more the experience someone has with them?

Replacing shocks and springs for example, on any car, can indeed be done by any mechanic but if you've a reputation for doing more of one model than an other, then the chances are you'll be quicker and then subsequently cheaper.

I guess that's why people look for a specialist, not because the car needs it, but because they like someone to work on them who knows them inside out.

Yes, and someone with a high standards of workmanship too. Even the most basic of jobs can be done to a poor standard by some places.

How about replacing a clutch in a Mk2?
I bought a clutch kit back end of last year and still can't see me having the time or garage space to do it in the near future frown
Nothings been said yet but Mrs G will be wanting it done for the F&C run - if the weather improves
cheers
