Driving down the A14 I was pulled over by a patrol car and booked for speeding. The policeman told me he was sitting on the slip road of the A142 junction when I went past so the next time I went down the A14 I looked to see exactly where it was and as I suspected it was well within Cambridgeshire. The policeman was from Suffolk so he zapped me in Cambridgeshire with his laser and then followed me until I crossed the border into Suffolk and then pulled me over. How can this be right especially when both Counties have differing proceedures for dealing with speeding.

They regularly also park a camera van just past that junction in a lay by about a mile before the BP heading towards Cambridge.

And coming from Cambridge, you nicely slow to 69 for the camera where the A11 joins, speed up again, and get done by a camera van just around the corner and about 400 yards before the Newmarket eastbound services.

Keep to the limits.....saves getting points, saves fuel, and with all the traffic it only gets you there about 45 seconds later. Boring I know, but you need your licence.

The cam van has moved on the A14 and is down towards the woolpit area, observing cars heading east towards Stowmarket. Never seen it there before, although I was heading home at around 15:00 unusually...so maybe it is completely normal !

They also sit at the barrow junction eastbound, then just to catch out those who know they sit there, they sometimes put a camera van another 1/2mile down the road in the new truck lay by.

Also seen the camera van at;
A14 westbound after haughley after the right hand browe past the cooked chicken smell.
A14 eastbound after stowupland junction, after fast righthander. About 2 miles before the a140.

You are in Suffolk at that point. (Newmarket and Exning are in Suffolk)
They have been sitting there (A142) for years, same as Barrow and Risby east/westbound slips.

Div.

It's not the Dukes of Hazzard you know. "Darn it, those Duke boys have gone into Cambridgeshire county!" as they screech to a halt at the sign post. hehe
