Basically, I am part of a venture that has set up an outdoor 650m(approx) karting track with a set of twin engine pro-karts (13hp 60mph sort). The track utilises part of an airfield perry track (RAF Coltishall) and therefore has a nice long straight to get some decent speed up!!! The prices are going to be VERY good as we are not doing it as a profit making venture, but purely self sustaining. It's just north of Norwich, and if I can get a decent amount of names to attend, then I can get you all a decent event sorted.....unfortunately due to noise restrictions it will have to be a weekday and not a weekend. Please show below if you are interested...cheers, Nick

Hi Nick. I would be interested. I heard they were closing down Coltishall, didn't take you long to reopen it as a race track.

As long as you don`t mind an ex champ joining in

Nick, are you doing the Memorial run from Colishall on the 12th September? There are a few PHers going.

I don't know if I am actually going to do the run, but I will turn up to meet up with you all (seeing as the main gate and guardroom it is about 30 seconds drive from my front door)

As for dates for the karting, we aim to be up and running within a few weeks to host corporate style events.....were collecting the karts this friday if all goes well (5 in total, 4 to race and a spare for when a biffa crashes the 4 good ones!!!)

yeah, it's winding down over the next two years, so lets just say we 'found' some "extra funding" for our little venture and the CO is a petrolhead which gave us a head start

Now if the CO could lend us the runway, you might have a deal...

Depending on work commitments I would potentially be interested. With a couple of weeks notice I would be up for it

Working on that one

and I've also noticed on the Coltishall memorial run there is a prize for the best wartime dress, do you want me to pitch up in full desert combats with body armour and "packing heat"????

You can, but it should be WW2 uniform, not Gulf War! Are you going? - if you need to book a place with the organisers (mail PH Roadshow for a form)

Good news, I am off to London to collect the karts on monday, so things are well under way...the track is designed and we have all the other equipments/permissions/tyres etc on the way too.....hopefully in a couple of weeks I can think about setting a date.....as I said in my original post, it will have to be a weekday/evening....the ironic thing is we can't get permission to race at weekends because of noise limitations (ON A FAST JET FIGHTER BASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

oh dear.......well we had a meeting today and it has been decided today that due to insurance problems, I am now not going to be able to host an event for Civilians at the kart track (Servicemen/dependants only)
bummer...so unfortunately I'll have to cancel...SORRY...but the decision has been made by someone who has a much larger pay pack than me
