We're driving up to Lavenham, at the weekend (after next) in the Chim for a long weekend - without children! Can't wait!

Does anyone have any good drive suggestions around the B roads in that area?

B1078 bildeston to needham
A1141 from just south of bury through lavenham to hadleigh.........twisty fast B road.
A143 bury to Haverhill...........fast sweeping a road.

Bit further afield.....
B184 great dunmow to saffron walden.
A1120 stowupland to yoxford................. A regular ph run section........on route to great fish and chips at aldeburgh.

What he /\ said,

The roads around Lavenham can be filled with OAP's in Honda Jazzes on a Sunday lunch time but on the whole they are fairly quiet.

One more to add. The B1066 between Glemsford and Bury. smile

I like that road coming from the other direction, especially the hairpin corner that drops down the hill just after the kersey junction, down the hill and over the bridge by the storage centre.............. Defiantly a roller coaster bit.

All the roads into Lavenham are good fun but too much local knowledge makes them scary. Got my one and only speeding ticket in Lavenham, which was a bit embarrassing as I lived there!

Yikes! I'll bear that in mind Jonno and try not to repeat this trick! If recent weather is anything to go by, progress will be light footed in the wet, anyway. Thanks to all again for contributions. smile

Well I found a number of these roads over the weekend. Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Unfortunately I also found A LOT of rain, sleet and snow....

The bad news is that this really wasn't the weather for TVR motoring - especially as it was my wife's first long-ish trip in the car. (she still enjoyed it though!)

The good news is that it was also the first real exposure to bad weather that the car has had in my ownership. (both driving and stationary) To my amazement I had completeley dry carpets by the time we arrived home last night! Who said TVR's leak??? smile
