hi guys,

i recently sold my TDi passat to get something a bit more fun wink

the story goes the same as most of us when my first child was born i did what i said i would never do... i broke up and sold my MK3 Astra fitted with a cavalier turbo C20LET engine weeping
With the money from that i bought a cheap Astra estate and this was swapped for the Passat diesel shortly after as i wanted a comfy, modern and more reliable car for a while getmecoat

Fast forward a year and i just couldn't bare driving a diesel any more, my wallet loved the 50mpg cruising but it was doing nothing for my petrol head MOJO. I knew what i had to do so the Passat was put up for sale, here's how it was when it went....

the replacement had to be an estate to do the same job and please the missus but this time it had to be a big power petrol to replace what ive been missing out on since the C20LET left driving

after researching and looking at a few different cars i decided on a C5 shape (1999-2004) Audi S6 Avant. With a 4.2ltr V8, 344bhp and 4WD it fitted the bill perfectly so i set about finding a good one, after looking at a few and being messed about by the sellers of a few others i found the perfect one for me and went to get it on sunday biggrin

its a 51 plate, 89K on the clock with FSH, enthusiast owned and very well looked after so apart from that ill let the picture do the talking cool

20 inch genuine RS4 wheels and brand new tires

trademark S/RS chrome mirrors yes

lovely interior with black leather heated Recaros, black alcantara pillers and head lining, real carbon fiber trims, and tiptronic steering wheel

the car has loads of options including like xenon lights, front and rear parking sensors, tinted windows and also these built in rear sun blinds which were a must with one child and one on the way sperm....

it even already has the hardware for the rare 7 seat option (although the bench wasn't with it)....

and the even rarer option of a fully working DIS (a common fault on this vintage of VAG cars) biglaugh

lastly the beast of an engine under the bonnet cool

which is VERY loud due to a previous owner removing both rear silencers laugh

strait away i couldn't resist taking it over to the airfield and stretching its legs so here's a few vids to show just how loud it is laugh

so what do you guys think??

Wheels are a touch big for my liking, but that exhaust is hilarious! I love it, you neighbours may not ( I'm chuckling to myself over their reaction when you pull up in it).

Brilliant family wagon, and it sounds amazing!

Really tidy example and a great soundtrack. Good luck at MOT time and with the constabulary though.

cheers guys,

like i said the exhaust was done by the previous owner and ive already spoke to a mate of mine whos garage does custom exhausts to have a couple of silencers put back in to hush it a bit.

im still toying with adding some bypass valves when the silencers are fitted so i can run it like this at the touch of a button when im feeling a bit childish laugh

Not much happens in Stownarket eh.
Apart from the A14 to BSE or Ipswich. smile

A "wagon" to me is an articulated tractor unit or rigid truck over 7.5t. (under that and it's a "Lorry")

Is it just the rear boxes that have been removed, or the centre ones too? Is there any drone on the motorway, or is it quiet when cruising? Just asking! whistle
