At last! I have mangled a collection of images down to internet size (well just) so you can all get a flavour of the great day we enjoyed on Sunday. Thanks to all PHers who came along, and an amazing number of old friends and faces (who found the stand easily thanks to our stonking new mega-banner!)
Unfortunately the Lotus is living up to its acronym at the moment.
To cut a list short I've not been able to use it much since LeMans
Clutch slave cylinder went and was fixed.
Clutch Master then gave up. Problem is you cannot buy them anymore for my MY. Had t seek an alternative and ended up using a willwood non assisted brake master housing and plunger with the push rod and connectors from the lotus part and an adapter for the hose.
Took out for a spin and got hit by a flying boulder leaving a now 18 inch crack down the screen. This was ordered three weeks ago and was not in stock. However it should be replaced Wednesday.
At least that was the plan until I decided to go to SELOCs Brunty or Bust Last Saturday. I arrived at the start (Duxford) Temp increased, nice hissing sound coming from a split water hose. Went out purchased what looks like the entire heating hose for some citron with the same internal diameter so I could cut a 6 inch length off it. Only to find I could not get the old pipe off without removing the inlet manifold (with the tools I had). Not something I fancied doing in Duxfords car park. So I ended up patching it up with gaffer tape and a jubilee clip. Managed to limp home with several water stops.
I'm hoping I'll have her back up and running this weekend. If not it will have to wait as I'm off climbing on the 21st.
