can anyone recomend any firms in east anglia that can do a decent repair on a cast head with a crack? tried everywhere for a good 2nd hand head and had no luck as it's a common problem on later chevy vortec heads, so next option is to get the old one fixed and if thats not an option then we're looking at a pair of new alloy heads which are out of the current budget so will require the motor to be a workshop ornament for a while. I had a bus one repaired years ago but the firm that did it has since stopped trading so any recomendations would be good.

You could try DAMICO (East Harlng) search Yell.com he's been pretty good at sorting my issues over the years - if he can't help he'll know who can

If you need any additional help, call Carl at CWD engineering on 01362 820504 (shipdham, 15 mind from Norwich). If it can be sorted, he's the man.

cheers guys, will have a ring round and see if we can get it sorted as it is proving almost impossible to get a good 2nd hand head, took 2 off an engine at the weekend and both were cracked in the same place.
